Another late review as I read this book maybe two years ago (Im on an Emily Nagoski kick since her newest book came out) — I recommend this book to all women to help them understand, attune to, and embrace themselves. As a therapist, this book truly is a remarkable resource and tool for the wonderful people I see and I am honored to have it to pass on to others.

at the time it seemed eye-rollingly obvious and kind of not worth writing an entire book to say "do some cardio to complete the stress cycle and let your body relax" but i keep finding myself referring back to it so maybe it was worth an entire book to hammer home that point

I really wanted to like this book, but I couldn't. I would consider myself a feminist, I believe in HAES, etc, etc. I just found the writing really REALLY annoying.  I really enjoyed Come as You Are and I found it very helpful. I didn't enjoy this book and basically hate-listened to it through the last several chapters. If you are new to the concept of burnout and mental health, you may find helpful information in this book. I found a couple useful tidbits but I think this book burned me out more than my life is burning me out right now (and I work in education!). This book is very "look at your lady parts in a mirror" style GIRL POWER. If you're into that, great. If not, stay away.
