A fairly interesting collection in comparison to King's other short fiction collections. This casts a wide net with some dark horror stories mixed with human drama stories and a fair amount that are a mix of both.
Some work a lot better than others. LT's Theory of Pets and All That You Love Will Be Carried Away are the standouts for me. But I also like Autopsy Room Four and That Feeling You Can Only Say What it is in French a whole lot too.
Stories like Lunch at the Gotham Café and The Road Virus Heads North have strong ideas driving not so strong all around stories. And then there are the outliers like In the Deathroom and The Death of Jack Hamilton. Both of which are pretty atypical stories for King and my opinion of them will likely change multiple times depending on the mood I'm in. But I appreciate the peculiarity of King's work here.
It's not my favorite King short fiction collection, but it includes some really strong stuff among some slightly less strong stories.

A good mix of stories, overall the same type of theme as you would expect from King. Nothing really stood out as "amazing", but this is definitely worth the read for any King fans.

So this is a short story collection with... varying quality at best and most of the stories were kinda forgettable tbh (I also skipped on 3 of them, one because I intend to read it if I ever jump into the dark tower series, the other two because they didn't catch my interest early on).
But, as always, let's go through this 1 by 1:
Autopsy Room Four:
I don't know the inspiration King has stated for this but it was a fun read. Only, as with so much of King's stories, the ending was kind of unsatisfactory. 2/5
The man in the black suit:
I really liked Kings prose in that one. Also, especially the first part was great, but again, wtf is that ending, although I got to say it's definitely one of the better ones 4/5
All that you love will be carried away:
Honestly, I would've liked this story better if I was able to read it when not being distracted all the time. It's kind of on me, but I was confused most of the time. The ending was nice tho, something that's actually rare for King as I've noticed. 2/5
The death of Jack Hamilton:
Way too long, but a fun story overall. Didn't like the ending tho. 2/5
In the Deathroom:
This story just didn't do it for me at all 1/5
The little sisters of Eluria:
I skipped on this one, but I think it's one of the best in there, judging by what I've heard (but it belongs to the dark tower series so I'll get to it)
Everything's eventual:
When reading I thought that this was gonna be my favorite story in here. It's not, but it's definitely one of the good ones (also, the ending is solid) 4/5
L.T.'s theory of pets:
One of the ones that actually managed to really scare me at the end. But apart from that, I just didn't care for it. It's said to be funny, but I didn't laugh at all 2/5
The road virus heads north:
skipped out on that one
Lunch at Gotham Cafe:
A really good setup, but King doesn't really deliver on it and the ending was bad. 2/5
That feeling, you can only say what it is in french:
skipped that one
1408:
The story I bought this book for. It was fine overall, but again the ending was what destroyed it for me 3/5
Riding the bullet:
Suprisingly my favorite story in there. It's a fun read and it even has a great ending. 4.5/5
Luckey Quarter:
A fun little closer, even though I didn't get it, I think. Or I didn't get the ending. Anyways, it was a solid send-off. 3/5
Phew, that's 14 stories, 11 of which I read. Too many for a short story collection and if it were only the 7 best of the ones in there it would've been much better overall.
Mathematically it's a 2.6, but I'll give it a three because I may have skipped on the best story in there, knowing it might be that.
