Absolutely phenomenal, even better than the first one. the writing improved, the characters are likable, and the story is even more fleshed out. it was such a rollercoaster, making me alternate between laughing and sobbing every few pages. finished it in under 24 hours because it was genuinely so good. would sell my soul to read it for the first time again

This book let me down though it had great potential. I may have liked the characters and the overall idea of this book, but the execution was just not it for me. The concept of deathcast is really dark and heavy, and the lovestory seems too lighthearted and too easy and fastpaced to be believable. The plot took way too long to unraveI in my opinion. I also thought the ending was pretty predictable.

RIP my heart. A sweet and innocent gay love story with the weight of death and loss. The protagonists’ relationship and personal stories are quite cliché. Still an entertaining and engaging novel.

I wasn’t sure if this could live up to They Both Die At The End but it did. I think I was a little more prepared for the devastation this time, but it definitely still hurts. The way the characters are all tied together, both within this book and throughout the series, is so thoughtful and heartbreaking. Reading about young version of the characters from the original hurts but I always wanted more so I’m still thankful. The First To Die At The End is beautiful. The plot twists are perfect, and every character is so meaningful. Adding this to the list of books that make me stare at the wall and cry both with a renewed love for life and with grief in my heart because the injustices of
Valentino and Orion having such little time together hurts.
But the impact they had is so powerful it outweighs it.
