hmmmmm so it started off a cliche, then I got sucked in. I only kept reading for Gavin. I like Emily when she isn't, near, around, thinking of, or talking about Dillon. So basically I liked her about 10% of the book. I appreciated how McHugh tried to help us understand where Emily was coming from in her submissive mindset, letting herself be a victim of domestic abuse- without even realizing it was wrong. But it still frustrated me to no ends. I hate weak main characters. And after a while, Emily not standing up for herself just got so frustrating I had to put the book down and walk away--- but I always came back to see if she would ever grow a spine.
I did love how the man i thought was going to be a shallow douche that the author tried to make me like just because he was better than the alternative, ended up being a worthy book boyfriend. I totally judged Gavin in the beginning. I pegged him as a Christian Grey-- and I'm so happy I was wrong. Basically the whole reason to read the book is Gavin.

It's a good love story. Slightly too much drama, but I'm curious what happens next, so I'm going to read Pulse, the second book. 3.5*/4*
I'm going to need time to rate this one. What I do know is that it left me feeling angry and frustrated, to the extreme. Both genuine emotions elicited by the plot, but also elicited by Emily. My good LORD, how many misunderstandings can a couple possibly endure before throwing in the towel and saying "fuck it"? I honestly wanted to SHAKE Emily for being so dense. Gah, she's what angered me the most, though Dillon's douchbaggery certainly did not warm the cockles of my heart.

Yes, I need time to figure out how I feel about this. I'm conflicted. I don't think I can bring myself to read the second book. There's so much anguish in this book, that unless the second book is all unicorns shitting rainbows, I'll be a basket case. Just like S.C. Stephens' Thoughtless series for me.
P.S. Cheating cheaters who unapologetically cheat? Anger.

I love love. I always have and I always will. I guess that’s why I read so much about it. A friend had suggested this book to me years and years ago. I took the plunge and finally purchased ‘Collide’.
When a book usually has a multi-millionaire in it, they’re usually cold-hearted, friendless, distant from their family. But not Gavin. He was the complete opposite of the usual millionaires that I’ve read about. Gavin is warm, caring, loving, funny, and literally wears his heart on his sleeve.
Most books also include a female MC, but sometimes she never has a boyfriend attached to her. Emily just lost her mother from cancer. She moved from Colorado to New York to start a new life and by closer to her boyfriend.
And in this story, a villain of course was present. Dillon. I didn’t like him the first time he controlled Emily over what she wore. And that opinion didn’t change when he told her that he didn’t like her choice in friends. But what threw in the towel for me was knowing that he continued to cheat on Emily behind her back.
Emily and Gavin. It was literally love at first sight. At least for Gavin. The chase was entertaining and passionate and hot as hell. And it left me wondering when they were finally going to come together as a couple.
Emily and Dillon. They just didn’t make sense. I get why she stayed with him. He was her safe haven and he helped out with a lot when her mom passed. But what he did was in a way, blackmail. He used her mom’s passing against her.
This story had everything for me. It had the sad parts, the love parts, the steamy parts, the comedic parts, the part where a couple slowly learns things about each other and then falls in love. It also had the nitty gritty. It had the hatred that every story needed.
My heart broke both for Emily and Gavin, but more so Gavin. He put his heart out on the line for a girl that he literally saw everything with. My heart soared when Emily realized that the man she was about to marry, wasn’t the man that she thought he was. My heart is still racing from the heartbreaking conclusion of ‘Collide’. I can’t wait to see how ‘Pulse’ goes.

Wow! What an ending! I am going to go crazy waiting for the next book. Gavin makes the perfect book boyfriend!
Whoa. This book was a freaking rollercoaster from the beginning.
I really liked the writing style, though it wasn't particularly unique. It was common, yet it worked well for this book.
And this book...I don't know how I felt about it, honestly. Like, I don't like any books where any of the main characters cheat, or when the main character is naïve and pretty clueless for the whole thing, like this one. But I did like the storyline. It was really interesting, and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I didn't know what was going to happen, and every time I predicted something, it was wrong. The book had soooo many surprises in it, and sometimes I literally hated them and wanted to throw the book, but other times I was just jumping up and down in joy. There was so much in this book; love, betrayal, hurt, loss, confusion, hate....everything. I really liked it, and I loved how it played out.
BUT THAT CLIFFHANGER. I hated the ending. It was awful, but it just made the book that much more better, to be honest. I can't explain it.
Now, the characters. Emily. I felt her to be naïve, and I felt as though she wasn't very independent. She relied on people the whole book, and she was childish a lot. Not to mention, she went to conclusions very easily, and I found the choices she made to be stupid. But that made her more real to me, which is why I liked her.
Gavin...amazing. I loved this man. He was demanding, sweet, loveable, and just everything you could want in a man. Though, some of his choices just angered me, and sometimes he just made me mad. Though, they were all necessary.
I hated Dillion. He was a bastard, and everything he did got on my nerves.
The other characters, like Olivia and Trevor and Fallon were awesome. They made the story, and they were great friends.
Overall, I really liked this book, and I can't wait to get to the second one.

It was absolutely delectable!!...freaking delicious!..
Seriously now...
I've been on #TEAMGAVIN from the first pages of the book...even from the first time we got to read about him especially by his POV...He is sweet but passionate, sensitive but determined..
In other words, he is a hard-core ,sexy as sin and yet playful swoon-worthy man..
Dillon..Don't get me started on him..What a -- jerk..Never ceases to amaze me how people see themselves..He's officially catalogued as an arrogant pig..
And now we have sweet Emily..How doesn't she see the reality is beyond me and it was a bit annoying..But she is very cute and well Gavin's love..
Anyway,I loved the book, maybe mainly due to Gavin's character..What can I say?!I'm a sucker for this type of men..
Can't Wait for #Pulse !!!
