I wanted to like this, I really did. And actually the first half was pretty good... but then it got so predictable and disappointing. Ugh... Grant is the worst. And Cecily? She seemed like such a strong character... until she took Grant back. Blech.

Uhhh I’m not sure how to feel? The book, while fairly predictable started out good but then took a turn for me when the author used the backdrop of 9/11 as a way to uncover secrets about the MC boyfriend. There were just so many other ways to have the same plot happen without using a major tragedy. Also the ending had me annoyed….

2⭐️ because I was at least entertained through most of it.

My favorite part of this book was when it finally ended and I could break down the storyline to my SO and have a good laugh. It felt like Emily
Giffin wanted to see how deep into the realm of the ridiculous she could go- and unfortunately for us, her editor was out of office and didn’t tell her to stop. Breakups! True love! September 11th! Terminal illness! Corporate espionage! A clichéd sassy gay friend! More breakups! Exorbitantly wealthy Upper East Siders! Wisconsin! Paternity tests! And yes, I did say September 11th, because a tone-deaf plot device was absolutely necessary. Can’t wait for the COVID-19 themed sequel!

Easily my favorite terrible book of 2020. Two stars, one for the book itself, and another for the entertainment it provided when rehashing to my SO.

Fast read. Nothing earth shattering or life changing but I certainly didn’t hate it. A bit predictable. Good summer read.

I enjoyed this book. It’s light and has an element of mystery. A few twists and then tied up in a nice little bow at the end. I would recommend this if you are looking for a nice easy read.

So, I really wanted to like this book because I really got sucked in at the beginning. I also was entertained by the fact that Cecily’s hometown is Pewaukee, WI.

Beyond that I just kept whispering what the fuck to myself the whole time. Where did Emily Giffin come up with this nonsense?!?!?!

I really need to reread Something Borrowed and Something Blue again and purge my mind of this later garbage that Giffin is churning out.

Ahhh— so good, just so good & reaffirmed why Emily Giffin is my favorite author. I think there was a lot going on in this one, & at times I found it all a little hard to believe BUT I still gobbled it up & couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Emily’s characters always seem to have a way of being extremely relatable to me, which is something I appreciate about her writing. Oh & Darcy & Rachel’s cameo made me want to go back & read Giffin’s first two books again!
