I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. But I must say, it did end in a pretty interesting fashion.

I seem to be in the minority on this, but I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes the narrative was clunky, as it jumped around between different times and from different character POVs. However, overall, i thought it worked well, particularly in revealing, bit by bit, the many twists.

The writing was vivid and really painted the scene of the ill-fated reunion at Wolfheather House well. I could see each of the rooms. I knew who the characters were. Everything was so masterfully described and illustrated. The plot was action-packed and so well-paced

I tend towards psychological thrillers but it’s been awhile since I’ve been this surprised by a twist. The book was gripping and I didn’t want to stop reading till the end.

Would definitely recommend this book to someone looking for a good thriller, though you have to be okay with a little bit of gore.

I enjoyed this VERY much. It's as though I Know What You Did Last Summer, the plot of Scream 2 and all of the mayhem of Clue had an orgie and produced a love child who grew up to love Sherlock Holmes and Lifetime Channel thrillers. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. I mention Sherlock mostly because this takes place in creepy AF bed & breakfast on some remote island in Scotland.

I won't go so far as to say everyone will enjoy this like I did, but if you're looking for an insane revenge plot story to either read or listen to, and you want to have moments when you scream THIS IS INSAAAANE WHO DOES THIS - pick this up.

Fair warning, if you get the audio, some of the chapters are fairly long, and you will feel like you're listening forever, but I felt it was worth it at the end.

Didnt finish, fell flat for me. I decided to take it anymore made an educated guess about who was it. Flip back to the ending and yeah I was right.

215 Caldwell Street. 6 roommates, one dead. 20 years later, the other 5 are reunited by trickery and are there to face their sins of the past.

I was told They Did Bad Things is a psychological thriller that is a mix of And Then There Were and He Last Tine I Lied. Those are two of my favorite books of all time, so this peaked my interest and had some mighty big shoes to fill.

I liked how it gave each characters point of view inside the chapter. I’m a short chapter kind of person, so breaking them down between characters helped me act as though it was short chapters. However, sometimes the flashbacks and the current events kind of ran together and it would take me a minute or so to realize I was in a flashback.

It was a good book, a quick read. I thought the end was the best part. Everything came together nicely. There were a few twists I did guess, but one I didn’t, which makes it successful in my book. Overall, another 3.5 book.

Thank you NetGalley and SkyHorse publishing first the eARC in exchange for an honest review. They Did Bad Things is set to publish June 2nd!

The book description of being like And Then There Were None and The Last Time I Lied were what hooked me on reading this and I could see some of that while reading. It also had a Clue vibe to it...a bunch of people in a locked house with a killer. One of the characters even makes a joke about it, which I thought fell flat.

From the beginning, this story wasn't too great for me. The flashbacks in time were strange and the writing was choppy. Something happened really early in the story to a major player and I felt like it was rushed and didn't fit. I would have given it 3 stars until the ending. I felt like the author added something (the "twist") that came out of nowhere and I felt cheated. I invested all this time reading it for that?

Thank you to Edelweiss and Arcade Crimewise for my digital arc in exchange for my honest review.

When you see a book claiming to be in league with Agatha Christie and Knives Out that gets your attention. It’s a big claim. And, for the most part, I think it lives up to the hype. I definitely got a strong dose of nostalgia for all the Agatha Christie I read as a teenager. And like Knives Out, there is a cast full of quite unlikable characters who all have things to hide which keeps you guessing at which of them is actually to blame.
Plenty of twists kept me guessing (incorrectly) until the end. I was 110% invested in this story.
My only pick is that I'm not sure it's even possible to have guessed correctly, which seems like cheating? But with as much as this story is going on, just as easily I could have missed clues. This book is one I’ll definitely have to reread with what I know now.

Very suspenseful and keeps you guessing until the end
adventurous dark mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: Complicated

Diverse cast of characters: No

what a fantastic & chilling book. i’m normally not the biggest fan of thrillers but if this is what the thriller genre has to offer then i’m all in!

all of the characters were so nicely developed & I honestly really liked Maeve even though they were all meant to be unlikeable in their own way. the twist at the end was fantastic
