i hated it :D

boring and superfluous and overly verbose in the worst way. there were parts that made no sense and sounded like smthg ud write while high and watching a literature documentary...

2 stars instead of 1 bc i did like the last 20 pages and the whole dynamic on how things are influenced by who talks where and who doesn't when they should have

First Agatha Christie novel and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. In the beginning, there was a few things that I had to get past. Mostly inappropriate descriptions of young girls for this day and age, but that wasn’t a focal point, mostly just a brief internal ‘wtf’. The other part that I wasn’t used to with the more modern books I read is the dialogue-heaviness. Thought it would get tiresome to read but it made the story feel quicker. Did suspect a little of the reveal, but it tied together in other unexpected ways.

Me deu sono, sinceramente.

This was my first Agatha Christie book, and while it was not brilliant or amazing, it was a fun and clever read. A young girl is murdered at a Halloween Party after claiming to have witnessed a murder sometime in the past. Ariadne Oliver and Hercule Poirot discover whodunnit.

Dang I did not see that coming lol

Going into this, I didn’t realize that this was on the tail end of the Poirot series. Published in 1969, this is decidedly more modern take with Poirot. I also love how Christie had a more visual style to her writing than she usually did in the past. Also add the fact both the time this book came out and with Poirot’s personality, it’s not a PC book, but I do appreciate the frankness of the characters and the deeper look of child psychology. I had a blast with this book, worthy of the series towards the end.

I usually love Poirot books, but this one was disappointing. I was expecting more intrigue, but I found myself bored most of the time.
