DID NOT FINISH
DNF. Not my style. Horribly mediocre writing, and a tired, unoriginal plot. There are far better coming of age books, and far better Vietnam War books. Nothing original enough to say about this war that would warrant another view of it from the white American male perspective. Hard pass.

Another great story from Robert Dugoni. Poignant, heartbreaking, yet inspiring.

Five stars is truly not enough for the book. Your are drawn in from the very first page until the very last word. While I’m sad I have finished this book, it will absolutely be one I re-read multiple times in the future.

It was ok. I don’t love the character development from this author, though his writing is without a doubt masterful. His young characters are always upstanding young people with outstanding morals - they are like old men in young people’s bodies. And his female characters, or lack thereof, are supporting leads with unwavering, positive support.
