Good, easily applicable information about best food choices for general health and more specific interests. Unlike a majority of diet/health books out there, this one doesn't advocate any radical diets or abandonment of entire food groups.
3.5 stars
In fairness, I skimmed this because the information 1) isn't new to me and 2) parallels the information in other skin and general.health and longevity books, as well as Dr. Anthony Youn's Younger for Life.
Does skimming count as reading? It did at university, so it does here!

Good science, but the reader got on my nerves after awhile.

I’ve seen people’s complaints about this book and yes it CAN be redundant. And yet it’s full of great information, I learned some new things pertaining to food I didn’t know before, and it’s an awesome resource.
It’s the type of book I love having on my shelf to reference from time to time now that I’ve read it once. I’m unlikely to ever read it cover to cover again, but rather use it as that reference.
There are some things I don’t totally agree with the author on, but as nutrition is something that tends to be very arbitrary (to a point), I’m fine with it. There’s still plenty of good nuggets to take from it. It’s also a great starting point to spring other research out of, as well.

Interesting book, but not amazing. There seem to be gaps in his nutrition knowledge (especially related to saturated fats, how weight loss or gain is not an energy balance issue, the negative role of sugar in health). Nonetheless, the book does have some great information on various vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc. If reading this, I’d highly suggest supplementing one’s nutritional knowledge with authors such as Nina Teicholz, Gary Taubes.

Good advice, but the description of the biological processes were a blur to me.
