It was a decent story but I expected more romance, as this was the final book.

The book series is hella slow burn, which I love. However it's got some strong themes of potentially disturbing content, and it's low-key sexist in a 1980/1990 kind of way. Still a fun read though.

Wish there was more about Simon and Megs relationship! I liked the series overall though thought this book didn’t go as far as I expected with the aftermath of everything that happened leading up to this story.

Gah, so good! One of my favourites in the series so far! The story was excellent, complex, and unconventional––one person setting off a ripple effect of chaos and suffering in the otherwise peaceful Courtyard. I loved how so simple a concept turned into a suspenseful adventure with one of the wickedest villains so far. Poor Monty though––that guy just can't catch a break. All the best characters returned in fine form, with Miss Twyla being one of the biggest badasses. There were some truly heart-warming moments, especially with Skippy and the ending (Gah! The ending!!!), and the climax was insanely suspenseful. Things are going to get rough for Meg and the Courtyard in the next little while, but she just keeps getting stronger and stronger after every trial. I honestly can't wait to read the next book. This series is just so unique and incredible, I can't recommend it to urban fantasy fans enough!

All I wanted was their relationship to develop... ALL I WANTED! And you'll have to read and find out, but dear god is it slow development.

I liked that this book dived into Namid's teeth and claws getting interested in the sweet blood, and how that in turn spurs the events of this book. The main character is still a Mary Sue, but this is a delightful read overall.

This was another wonderful book in the Others series. I love all the characters and the general premise. Can't say enough good things. Very sad this is the last story about Meg and Sam, although I hear another Others book about another person in the Others world is coming out next year. I'll be re-reading this series.

You know when you finish a book and kind of grieved the loss of characters you looked forward to visiting each time you picked up the story? That's how I was with the whole series. Anne Bishop is a great writer. I enjoyed each & every book in the series. I hope what I read is true and Ms B will have a spin off series. I hate to have finished, I will miss this.

Anne Bishop is one of my favourite authors; she creates the most amazing worlds and characters, and I can’t help becoming completely immersed in them.
I love these books and I am disappointed that this might be last book of Meg and Simon’s story; their story feels like it has so much further to go.
Please write more Lakeside Courtyard stories Anne Bishop.
