๐ˆ hit a home run with this audiobook! Dan Montgomery, aka Monty, is truly the sweetest and most thoughtful MMC. I adore him. Despite his long-standing feelings for Lark Miller, who was already in a relationship, he managed to put his own emotions aside and be the best friend she needed. Lark eventually realized she was with the wrong person, as the perfect man was right in front of her all along.

๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ story was not only charming but also had spicy scenes that had my heart racing. The dual narration by Tim Paige and Victoria Connolly was superb. Both of them brought the characters to life, with Tim's portrayal of Monty being absolutely perfect!

๐ˆ๐Ÿ you're a fan of sports romance and friends-to-lovers stories, you'll definitely enjoy this audiobook. A big thank you to Julia Jarrett and Home Cooked Books for the ALC. All thoughts and opinions shared here are entirely my own.

Okay, Catch Her Heart was such a vibe!  If youโ€™re looking for a feel-good romance thatโ€™s soft, sweet, and low on the angst, this is it. Think slow-burn, no crazy plot twists, just two people figuring out how to make their relationship work. No unnecessary dramaโ€”just vibes.

Dan is the oldest virgin in Major League Baseball and, spoiler, heโ€™s in love with a woman who's about to marry someone else. But then Lark shows up, kisses him, and BOOM, their chemistry is undeniable. I loved how they slowly built their connectionโ€”it wasnโ€™t rushed, but you could totally feel how perfect they were for each other. Dan's already 100% in love with Lark from the jump, but it takes a little more time for her to catch up, which I thought was adorable.

And letโ€™s talk about the audiobookโ€”Victoria Connolly and Tim Paige were great! Tim nailed the innocent, soft Dan, and Victoria brought all the warmth and care to Lark. Their voices were so easy to listen to, and they brought all the passion, humor, and romance to life.

The book doesnโ€™t have a big third-act breakup, thankfully, it didnโ€™t need it! The pace was perfect, and the lack of unnecessary conflict made the relationship feel so real and genuine.

In short: itโ€™s a chill, sweet romance with great character growth and communication. Perfect if youโ€™re in the mood for something thatโ€™ll leave you smiling.

Title: Catch Her Heart
Author: Julia Jarret
Genre/s: sports romance (baseball)
My format: audio ๐ŸŽง
Tropes:
โšพ Baseball
โšพ Heโ€™s a Virgin
โšพ Best friends to lovers
โšพ Itโ€™s always been you
โšพ Accidental pregnancy

This man is a walking green flag. Loved every single bit of this.

The Virgin MMC trope is not always executed wellโ€ฆ often when we have this trope the MMC magically knows how to be excellent in bed but this wasnโ€™t it. There were many โ€œteach me how you like itโ€ moments and fumbling around and it was just so realistic without losing the sexy edge. Love.

Truly a healthy relationship with a walking green flag of a hero who time and time again showed that he would always be there for his woman and that she was it for him.

This was also an example of an accidental pregnancy trope done well. The child was not the entire reason for them to be together, it wasnโ€™t the third act drama even. It was just a plot point like any other plot point.

Everyone needs a guy like Monty in their life. Heโ€™s loyal, protective, and puts those he cares about first no matter what the consequences. Monty and Larkโ€™s friends first romance was a feel good listen. Tim Paige and Victoria Connollyโ€™s wonderful narration transported me into the Vancouver Tridents world giving me a front row seat to a sweet and complicated happily ever after.

I absolutely adored this story! It was soo sweet and adorable! Dan just melts your heart from the very start and you are immediately rooting for him to get his chance with Lark. Dan and Lark are really good friends, like best friends, and have built that friendship from the time that he started on the team. Dan was interested in Lark from the beginning but having been inexperienced through school and wanting to find the right one, not just anyone, he took a little bit of time until he figured out that Lark was already dating someone, and seriously. So he settled in for being her friend and wanting whatever made her happy. He never crossed the line but he still found all the little ways that expressed the way he felt, as pretty much everyone else knew on the team that he was in love with her and she was off limits. Now she is engaged but second guessing all of it. When things finally come to a head and she splits with her fiance and realizes that she has feelings for Dan and he feels the same, it opens up something totally new for them. Neither want to lose the other and I loved how Dan handled taking that step and that risk and moving at a slower pace, one that didn't push Lark or have things fall into a rebound. I loved how intentional they were with each other's feelings and how open about it they were. It was so heartwarming and adorable. Dan is a virgin and he is open about it and why and once he found his person, there was no one else, even if she was with someone else. I loved watching them move forward and find their way together and how they handled the different things being thrown at them. I love how he communicated and took the news of Lark being pregnant and being a father. This story was such a good read and I absolutely loved it! It held my attention the entire time and was just so cute and adorable. I can't wait for more in this series!
The narrators did a phenomenal job with the story and bringing the characters and the story to life. I truly enjoyed listening to this and thought that they did such a great job embodying their personalities and showcasing that through their voices as well as the actions and emotions happening in the story. It really added to it! Very well done!

โ€ข Thoughts:
Out of the 3 books, this one was sugary sweet! I honestly loved how the couple themselves had no drama! Lark and Monty (Dan) were adorable friends turned to lovers. They fit together perfectly, and Monty and his desire to learn Lark's body is adorable. He gains his confidence quickly! He really loves Lark with his while heart and does everything he can to show her!
Catch Her Heart is a light, easy read. I did have a hang-up with the book, and I just  needed a little more drama. Now, don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed when a couple is just able to be a couple, and they fit together seamlessly. There is something extremely special when a couple gets together and they are a couple. Boom done. There isn't a back and forth. So the no drama in that sense is really nice. But myswlf personally feel there needs to be drama coming at them amd they face it together, and for this story,  there really wasn't a lot of that.
However, like I said. I still liked the book and enjoyed it. It was cute, and if you just came off of reading something heavy, this is a good one to help palette cleanse. It's a great listen.

Narrator Thoughts:

Oh my gosh, Tim and Victoria did an outstanding job. They captured their personalities and brought Lark and Monty  to life. I fully enjoyed them!

Edit to include audiobook review:

My goodness did Victoria Connolly & Tim Paige ever do an amazing job bringing my favorite Tridents couple, Monty and Lark to life. I wish I could give the audiobook more than 5 stars because it deserves it! I didn't think I could love this couple any more than I did after reading Catch Her Heart, then Julia Jarrett goes and brings it to audio and makes me fall in love all over again.

I will never stop shouting from the rooftops how fantastic this series is and the audiobooks just elevate already great books to a new level.

Daddy Monty has taken over as my new favorite Trident. That man was the epitome of golden retriever and I was here for all of his sweetness and love for his girl, Lark.

The things he did for that woman before she even knew how much he loved her...eternally swooning for him. The tattoo, the star, the nickname, being the best friend a girl could have while pining for years. That man was pure perfection.

When Lark ended her engagement, opened her eyes to what was right in front of her, and took her "F it" moment I yelled "yes girl" out loud.

The way they had such a beautiful friendship and connection before becoming more made them an even more real and relatable couple. They had a genuine love for one another that organically grew into so much more.

I can't believe Lark even doubted that man for a minute when it came to baby Birdie and how he would feel. Monty was all in before he even had the girl. When he got the girl plus one, game over.

I know there are more Tridents to come but I don't know how anyone can top Monty and Lark for me.

The found family that is Tridents baseball is goals and I love them all so much.

The Vancouver Tridents series has become one of my favorite baseball romance series ever and I can't wait for more!
