Read it while sitting at Barnes and Noble, and diligently copied out all the relevant details into my little journal to take on tour. Here's hoping I can continue to eat healthily even when we have to stop at Wendy's! :)

This simple little book is something you could read in an hour, but the information in it is priceless. David Zinczenko has reviewed hundreds of restaurants and rated their burgers, salads abd sandwiches for nutritional content and calories, then tells you the best bang for your buck. His simple substitutions can save you hundreds of calories a week and leave you scratching your head, thinking, "how is this burger THAT much fattier than that one when they have all the same ingredients?"

He also has the same information for Halloween candy, typical Thanksgiving fare, and of course there is the all-important two-page spread comparing coffees and other beverages from chains like Starbucks, Dunkies and others, rating them for caffeine and sugar.

If you like to go out to eat but are at all conscious of your health, this book is worth the small amount of time it takes to flip through it.

This was a short read, but informative! There was a lot I already know, but there were also some things that surprised me, like that Chik-Fil-A has some of the healthiest sandwiches and the ranking of what restaurants are considered healthier than others. I also liked the non-restaurant specific section that covered the best options for different types of cuisine, like Mexican and Chinese. I don’t know that making these swaps is enough alone for someone to lose 30 pounds, but it is a good starter guide for making better choices.
