My favorite so far if the wicked villains series. I loved the mix of plot with smut and the connection to other books within the series. Tink is a well developed character and Hook matches her perfectly.

4.5 ending the year with a bang

gAAAAAHHHH THIS WAS SO HOT!! hook is such a sexy mf and he's so different from the archetype of the cold brooding dom we usually get with these types of novels, he just wants to make tink feel good and make her give into her submission and UGH he was so so dreamy and tink was such a badass and just so so hot

I really enjoyed that this one had a lot of good character building compared to the first 2 books. Seeing what made Tink become Tink after getting snippets of her in the first two novels was refreshing.

I did knock off a star because I appreciate the wonderful voice actors narrating the book but it threw me for a loop theh used Jack, the same voice actor they used for Jafar, to play as Hook and there was much of a vocal difference in his performance to make me think "oh this is how Hook would sound". And I don't blame him, I blame the company that hired him and didn't direct him to change up his vocal tone to be a different character like other voice actors do.

Hook is a perfect morally grey man.

I loved this, adored the dynamic between Tink and Hook and appreciated Katee Robert's careful attention to past trauma from an abusive relationship and how healing can be.

This is my favorite book of the series so far.

I’m torn over this one. On one hand it felt better to read than Desperate Measures (not hard to beat) and the ending was more climactic than Learned My Lesson, but it still didn’t FEEL like it was on-par with my other 4-star reads. But 4-stars it is because I cannot put it in the same category as the first 2.

These books are very much character driven, and the dynamic between Hook and Tink was *chef’s kiss*, her with her ‘fuck you’ personality, him with his ‘no but I love you’ simping. It was splendid.

I am not the audience for this author. These books are not made for me. Just so much smut that it really gets in the way of authentic characters
