Fabularnie to zwykła pospolita podróż bohatera, ale styl trudny do określenia. Dostrzegalne ulotne feministyczno—ekologiczne wpływy (niczym u „Nausicaä z Doliny Wiatru”), choć kobiet jak na lekarstwo, bohater jest trochę jak z „Mrocznej Wieży” Kinga. Na to wszystko magiczna warstwa, kontynentalna wersja „Harry'ego Pottera”. Intrygująca, pięknie napisana historia, która wiele zyskała dzięki zacnemu przekładowi Barańczaka.

The world-building is top notch and the writing is exquisite; however, I really disliked the lack of development of every single female character. I expected more from Ursula K. Le Guin than sexist tropes and descriptions.

En el mundo de la fantasía, Le Guin es una indispensable, y ahora sé el por qué. Esta obra casi que se podría considerar pionera en este género y muchas historias se han inspirado de ella. Por mencionar algunos: JK Rowling, Paolini, Rothfuss... Escrita en una época en la que la fantasía era prácticamente inexistente, creo una historia de superación y descubrimiento interior a la vez que iba rompiendo estereotipos de forma muy sutil. Las aventuras de Ged no han hecho nada más que empezar.
