The book explores the American Extrovert Ideal, deepens our understanding regarding the differences between extroverts and introverts based on biological and cultural perspectives, and provides suggestions on how extroverts and introverts can harness their strengths.

Personally, I find this book insightful with recommendations to corporations/schools/managers/teachers/parents/individuals based on the available research results.

The book would be an easier read if the ideas could be more organized, but overall it’s a good book for anyone who is interested in this topic.

Hands down best non-fiction book I have ever read.
I feel seen and validated.

THIS IS THE MOST BORING BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. I have reached a point of forcing myself to read it, and I couldn't finish half of this book. The book was all over the place & I never found any value on it, maybe because I already knew what introverts are. I read its summary to not miss anything, but unfortunately, the book still failed to deliver any value. I can say it's more of a validation book for the introverts around us (including me)

Very interesting and quite complete, it helped me understand my personality and inspired me to try things out. I might make some friends and family read some of it when I want to explain something about myself to them !

This was really good in depth look at a common topic in social psychology - introversion/extroversion. The book focuses on the nuance of introversion & important role the quality brings to our worlds. Cain is very thorough in outlining the psychological research & social phenomena that led to the esteem of extroversion. I am a true introvert but know I have extroverted qualities I am comfortable with...I think many people feel they don't fall into a polarized category - this book does a great job of proving a more robust understanding of the personality structures. A must read for anyone who is an introvert or who parents, lives with, works with or supervises one!

This book was recommended to me by 2 mentors. Introverts are needed to bring balance and insight to situations. Learning to love that I’m like that is what this book helped me to do.

2 stars - OK, boring, wouldn’t recommend. I needed a “Q” book for the alphabet challenge so maybe if you’re into these types of books, then you may enjoy it more.
