I can hardly believe that this is a debut!

Funny and endearing story of moving on, picking up the pieces of one's life after a betrayal, and readying one's heart to open up to newfound love and friendships.

I'd surely pick up Kerry Rea's next release.

This was a cute book and I can always appreciate a rom com that includes additional storylines other than the romantic one (I.e. the relationship between Maisie and Willa). But the cheese factor was REALLY high in this book especially towards the end. Still very cute and I would recommend it.

I wished this had depicted loneliness and the connections we end up finding in the least likeliest of people in a more grounded way. The story started veering towards the more dramatic and maudlin territory with every page and I hated that. I wanted something more, something more warm and layered in the relationships shown in this book. All those emotions, crying, comforting, bonding didn’t feel genuine, rather they felt so manufactured, like you could tell those crying and sweet moments were there just for the sake of making the readers cry.

Willa Callister's life was turned upside down when she caught her fiancé and her best friend in bed together. Feeling betrayed, she abandoned her successful career, and now performs as a princess at children's birthday parties, for her sister's company.
When Maisie Mitchell, a nervous wreck, hires her to be her friend and bridesmaid, Willa only agrees so she can start a new life. But, Maisie is a true sweetheart, and Willa starts having true friend feelings for her. When Maisie's fiancé's best friend, Dr. Liam Rafferty, starts to show interest in Willa, she is concerned because she knows she is living a lie as Maisie's friend. Liam is all about the truth.
Charming and cute, this is a nice story about friendship and love. Easy read.

Chapter 1 of this book is probably the best first chapter of any book I’ve ever read. EVER.

I was completely hooked from the start.

This is such an amazing story and it kept me intrigued from start to finish.

The only issue I had was with Maisie’s parents. It was stated that they were religious and because of their religious beliefs they were pretty much the worst parents ever. It just seemed a bit on the discriminating side towards religious persons to me. Not every religious person is that way.

Other than that I absolutely adored this story.

Equally hilarious and heartwarming, this debut has everything I love: laugh out loud moments, a swoony male lead and strong mental health rep. Willa thought she had it all: she was engaged to be married and had a strong online following with her blog, but when she catches her fiancé with her best friend her seemingly perfect life implodes.

Taking a hiatus from reality, Willa moves in with her sister and takes a job as a children's party entertainer. However when a nervous bride hires her to pose as her bridesmaid life gets much more complicated. Unable to resist the charms of the best man, Willa is forced to keep up the charade at the expense of her budding romance. Highly recommended if you're looking for a feel-good romance with depth. I really enjoyed this one that was great on audio. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copy!

Cute story, enjoyed the book. 3.75 rounded up. The big reveal was a bit of a let down, and a weird error (Maisie is a beef brisket taco eating vegetarian?). But otherwise a lovely story.

Cute but too predictable
