Back by popular demand, Kelly Orams brings readers the second installment of the now Jamie Baker trilogy. To be honest I think the fans were craving for more Jamie and Ryan instead of Jamie's superawesomeness so they demanded a follow up. Ha! That's alright though because I personally wanted to see more of Ryan. And, uh, Jamie's superpowers. Of course! *coughs*

In More Than Jamie Baker, Jamie knows how to control her power in any given situation. She's more cautious now than she was in the first book because she didn't want a repeat of the last time she let her guard down and almost exposed herself to the public. However after an accident she consciously didn't do anything to stop, she decided that she had to do something about it. She wanted to quit being guilty and make up for what she failed to do. Naturally, Ryan had a few ideas up his sleeve to help her out once again.

I didn't think it was possible for Jamie and Ryan to get any cuter but here they definitely did! Since Jamie knew how to keep her powers at bay whenever her all too adorable boyfriend got too close, they could afford to get plenty touchy-feely in public. They even came up with a name to describe Jamie's charged up kisses, 'superkisses.' With Ryan's help, Jamie was able to device a plan for her to break out of her shell and become the superhero she's bound to be. All that power should be put to good use after all. I like how simple it was for the pair to come up with Jamie's costume and how she'd track down the bad guys. It was all fun and light. It kind of reminds me of the movie Sky High. It was action packed and intense but it wasn't heavy. I like the new Jamie Baker - definitely an improvement from the previous book.

What makes Jamie even better now, aside from her superhero secret identity that is, is that she's finally more confident and sociable. She's gotten closer to Ryan's bestfriend Becky after their misunderstanding in highschool. It was great seeing this new side to Jamie - a happier one that's not afraid to make friends. The downside however is that she's become more open to other people - people who will stop at nothing to get what they want. Enter mysterious new guy... who, let's just say, is shady but in some ways adorable.

I like the action, the Ryan time, even the new guy (fine) but what I liked the most was the cliffhanger... IT WAS INSANE!!! It's exactly the kind of cliffhanger that will both scare you and make you crave for the next book. Kelly Oram - that was sneaky. Really really sneaky. 4 stars for Jamie Baker, my favorite superhero. ;)

Oh my god!!! I cannot believe it ended like that! Why oh why does the next book have to be on hiatus? I'm gonna die waiting for it. That ending was so unexpected. I need the third book to make everything okay again because I can't deal with what just happened. Teddy needs to go somewhere far far away like asap. Hopefully Kelly will get some new inspiration for the next book soon because I need it. Until then I will be waiting.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Okay, now that I've gotten that out of my system I can move on. I LOVED More Than Jamie Baker, but the ending was probably one of the most brutal cliffhangers that I've ever read...and Remember Jamie Baker seriously cannot come out fast enough! :P

Now, onto a more coherent review. :P I absolutely LOVED the first book in this trilogy, Being Jamie Baker, so when I got the chance to read More Than Jamie Baker, I jumped at the chance...and I don't regret it one bit! :D

At times, I will admit, I was totally frustrated with this book. I love Jamie, I so do...but sometimes that girl just puts her trust in ALL the wrong people. At the same time, I always understand why she does it. Jamie may be too trusting at times, or a bit naive, but she's incredibly easy to understand and empathize with. She's one of my favourite heroines, and I absolutely adored every single Ryan and Jamie moment that there was...they're definitely one of my favourite YA couples. I just love how much they care for each other, and the passion...WOWZA! You know you've got steamy chemistry when your kisses blow up lightbulbs! ;D haha They also have awesome banter...seriously, they are never boring, and I love it! :D

Along with the awesome Ryan and Jamie bits, I just loved seeing Jamie grow. She's become so much more mature and confident in herself since we first met her in Being Jamie Baker. I'm always extremely happy to see her put herself out there and just take chances that she wouldn't have before. I also totally love when she tries to figure out more about her powers and see what else she is capable of...it's just so fascinating and all-around awesome!!! I love that it mixes my ginormous love for superheroes into a super-awesome book series with one wonderful main character...and Ryan, he's totally a super-boyfriend, too. ;)

I'm not going to go into too much detail about plot or anything with this one because I think it's more fun to figure out for yourself while reading, but you'll definitely face a few twists as you read...and you may or may not be surprised by everything that goes on, it kinda depends how good you are at figuring it all out. ;) But, there are definitely twists, so expect that! haha

Overall, I loved More Than Jamie Baker!! Yes, the cliffhanger was super brutal, but rest assured, there is another book (don't worry guys, Kelly wouldn't leave us hanging like that!!!), and I have tonnes of faith that everything will turn out for the best! I'd recommend this trilogy to fans of superheroes, or just fans of awesome heroines who can take care of themselves! Although, Jamie's boyfriend is pretty fantastic. haha ;)
