Katie Chandler left New York City so that she would no longer endanger the love of her life. So she went back to Chandler, Texas, where nothing magical ever happens. Except that magical things are happening. As another immune, her mother thinks she's going crazy. And there's a wizard that is robbing banks. Not to mention that Idris is hanging around. What the heck is going on? At least it's a chance to see Owen again... if he sticks around.

Since I had read the first three books in this series one per day and there were seven books in the series, I decided that I might as well make it a marathon and finish out the week binge reading the rest of the series.

This may not have been the best idea, but I rolled with it. I was having fun avoiding my life by amusing myself with the fictional problems of Katie Chandler. I was excited about this book because it takes place mainly in Katie's hometown. I really liked her mother's character and was enthusiastic to see more of her. So I was then disappointed by how little her mother is actually in this story. Apparently the author decided the grandmother was more of a crowd-pleaser and focused more on that character instead. But I found the grandmother disappointing because she was basically [b:Stephanie Plum's Grandmother|6853|One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1)|Janet Evanovich|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1316730230s/6853.jpg|1486401] with magic added in. She just gave off that trying-too-hard, too-engineered feeling. And the plot in this book was over-the-top cheesy. The villians took on the bumbling aspect of cartoon villains which made it hard to believe the stakes were high.

It's light and fluffy, but I enjoyed this more than your average light read. I am looking forward to reading more in the series. It's just what I needed for "summer" reading.

This book concludes Katie's story about her life right after she discovers magic exists and joins the "Microsoft of Magic" as she calls it, a major magic company.

She meets lots of colorful characters, including Merlin (yes, the famous one) and Owen, a young, gorgeous, yet shy and powerful magician who she instantly develops a crush on.

Lots of fun moments, realistic characters and an interesting take on magic. A light and enjoyable series!

Normally I don't like it when an author moves the action in her series to a different setting, but this time it really worked! I know I'm a bit biased as a Texas girl myself, but moving the story from The Big Apple to the Lone Star State was just the shot-in-the-arm that the series needed. After leaving us unsure of what would become of our favorite non-magical bud Katie Chandler, Shanna Swendson gives us an enchanting story worthy of her earlier works!

Don't Hex with Texas is every bit the witty and effervescent read that Enchanted, Inc. was for me. This entire series is the embodiment of fun summer reading! The only downside to Don't Hex with Texas is that it ends. A little research has found that the publisher has no plans to publish Swendson's fifth book, and that is unfortunate. I am not through with Katie and Owen, but will have to imagine what comes next for them. Luckily Swendson masterfully tied up lose ends in Don't Hex with Texas while still leaving the possibility of another book open. Shanna Swendson is a fantastic storyteller!

Katie Chandler has left New York and returned to her family in Texas, said to be devoid of all things magical. However, when strange things start happening in her home town, Katie starts to suspect the forces of evil are up to something. This is the fourth book in the Enchanted Inc. series, and I hope it won't be the last.

One of the great things about this series is the relationship between Katie and Owen. There's a continued tension of will it/won't it that stems directly from the characters themselves, rather than some artificial outside influence or being dependent on any overly orchestrated love triangle. There's a sweetness to their friendship and a genuine affection that is built on more than lust or sex appeal.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this fun chick-lit series, unfortunately, sales on the third and fourth book were not high enough for the publishers to pursue publishing the next books in the series. Very disappointing, because I would love to see more of this storyline and see what happens as Katie and Owen's relationship begins to grow, not to mention all the rest of the assortment of lovable and bizarre characters throughout this world.

This is the fourth installment in Swenden's series about Katie, the magical immune, who works for a magical company helping them keep order in New York.

In this installment, Katie's come home to Cobb, Texas, where [she's always believed] there is no magic. After her on again / off again boyfriend Owen chose to save her rather than defeat the bad guys at the end of the last book, Katie decided to remove herself from New York to let Owen fight the baddies unhindered.

As fate would have it, things in tiny Cobb aren't quite as Katie's always thought they were. Not only is there magic around, but the bad guys seem to be closer to home than expected.

If you're from a small town, or have a big, interfering family, you'll feel right at home reading this book! Katie's family all get in the way of her and her magical friends attempts to figure out what's going on in town with all the seemingly magical happenings. They also try to help Katie "catch" Owen, which offers some very funny moments.

All in all I found this a good ending to the series - assuming this is the ending. Swendsen definitely left a few threads hanging which would allow for future books if she's so inclined. This is a fast, fun, easy read with sweet characters, funny moments and a little bit of romance but no sex.

If you enjoy lighter "magical" stories this may be for you. But do start at the beginning of the series with Enchanted, Inc. and work your way through in order so you know what's going on.

I read half of this book a little over three years ago, lost interest, shelved it, and just now got around to wrapping it up. The is the fourth book in Swendsons light-hearted Magic Inc. series that is mostly breezy chick-lit with a little urban fantasy thrown in.

While I found previous books in this series charming, I thought this entry was pretty lackluster.

Not only we were able to find out some more craziness in Texas, this one might just top the weirdness level of magic in the previous novels. The new appearances from Katie's best friend in Texas, Nita, her three older brothers, and her helpfully wacky grandma added on to the magicalness in this book in more ways than one :)
