The illustration is beautiful and the representation of different characters it’s important but the ending felt so rushed I didn’t quite understand it.

I enjoyed the premise of this book, but didn't really like the romance aspect of it. The way they seemed to instantly be attached to this one girl out of all the others that they met seemed strange and very insta-lovey.

I'm mixed on this story.
There were so many parts that I loved, and I think this book really needed a sequel, not a companion. But there were tons of issues and unfinished loose ends that irked me.
The idea itself is intriguing, the idea of A entering different bodies. But at the same time, it is uncomfortable, that he is controlling them for a day, where he could easily mess up their lives. The romance felt very insta-love, but I liked Rhiannon's acceptance, even when we totally understand how weird and awkward the situation is.It had me engaged, definitely. But at the same time, A can be a boy or girl, so I know Rhiannon had to get used to it, as well as that A was a jerk at times. But I also felt bad for him, as A can never have a normal relationship, nor friends nor family, all because of what A is. I wish we did know what A really is, and whether or not A can stay in the same body to be with Rhiannon or if A is stuck this way. Loose ends. But overall, if loose ends or a slightly irritating protagonist doesn't bother you, go ahead.
But the novel teaches about cherishing the days, getting over appearances, and trying to love even when it seems impossible.

I really, really liked this book--maybe 4.5 stars for me. I thought some of the writing was really lovely and it was thought provoking. The story centers around 'A' an "entity" who inhabits a new body every single day. A has thoughts, feelings, desires, annoyances, etc. just like a human, but is he/she/it? Human? An alien? A demon? On the day that the book opens, A is 16 or 17 years old and is inhabiting the body of Justin. A/Justin sets off for school where he meets Rhiannon, Justin's girlfriend. Instead of checking out/not fully engaging in his body/day like he normally does, A decides to fully engage in "his" day and in "his" relationship with Rhiannon. You see, Justin isn't very nice to Rhiannon and A decides that she's special.

One of the quibbles that I have with the book is that there's not much to why A likes Rhiannon so much. I know that they can only really have one day together, but for me to be fully on board with this relationship, I needed something more to their "relationship". Why was she so special? What was it about her that made A want to fully engage in a way that he doesn't normally?

What I liked about the book is that there are things to explore about our preconceived notions of race, gender, weight, class, parents, siblings, etc. Because A lives in a body for only one day, we're left with only glimpses of the people he inhabits and both A's (and sometimes Rhiannon's) reactions to these bodies. The book only begins to explore these and there are no answers, but I think that this book would be a great discussion book for parents to have with their kids/young adults about acceptance and judgments that we make about people based on what they look like on the outside.

Overall, a very interesting/thought-provoking premise, with some really lovely writing.
