The concept of this is so interesting, it just doesn't hold up with the delivery. The world building was a little confusing and at parts I had no idea what was going on. There was too many references to places or things that had no impact on the story. The characters I liked enough but we didn't get well flushed out relationships between anyone. The romance... that may have been the worst part! We're made thought he has a GF for 80% of the book...

Threads that Binds is set in a world where children of the gods inherit their powers.   Descendants of the Fates always comes in threes, one to cut, one to weave and one to draw. The Ora sisters are  descendants of the fates. Io, the youngest, uses her abilities as a private investigator in the city of Alante.

She discovers that somebody is abducting women, cutting their life strand, and setting them loose in the city to kill. Now Io must work aside Edei, the right hand  of the famous Mob Queen to solve these murders.

The details of the worldbuilding, the action packed scenes, and  incorporation of Greek Mythology and politics will take your breath away. The mystery of the murders lures you in paired the storytelling and the thrilling plot.  I love the  incorporation of Greek Mythology into the story, and the magic system is beautifully written.  I love the characters and their arcs throughout the book.   I love the relationships in the book, and not just the romantic ones. I love the relationship between the Ora sisters and how being descendants of Fates are incorporated into it.

I loved learning about all the characters and seeing how Greek Mythology is  incorporated into the modern world.  The world building was beautiful down, and I could perfectly pictured the city of Alante.

Thank you Penguin Teen for sending me the paperback version of Threads That Bind.

Thank you to the publisher and TandemCollective for sending me a proof copy and for letting me be apart of the readalong! It was so great!

What an excellent book. I seriously got so enthralled in this story with all its twists and turns. Such amazing action scenes and adventure. I loved the detailed descriptions and world building while incorporating Greek Mythology. The mystery of the book seriously lures you in where you can’t help but turn the page. It was hard to put the book down!

We follow Io who is a descendent of the Fates and the youngest of three sisters. Io has the power to cut threads a power which is dangerous in their world. The bidding relationship/friendship between Io and her fate-thread Edei was sooo lovely to read about. It felt so authentic and still came with the doubts that (is it really love between them or is the thread making them feel these things).

Io has seriously become a new fav of mine. And the other characters in the book were all distinct and unique too. Io begins to realise things are not what it seems and this is where the mystery comes in. The twists and turns could feel predictable but one of them was still just sooo shocking. Io goes through a lot and I can’t help but admire her. That last twist and cliffhanger?!! Ahhh!!

Overall a seriously unique YA fantasy that is full of learning and mystery and I seriously recommend. A huge 4 stars from me!
