Another outstanding entry into the First Law trilogy. Joe ramps up the character development and every arc is poignant. Although now that I'm into the third book I can see that the first two books are pretty much all setup with some mini climaxes.
But damn if it's not worth it. How can something so grimdark be so funny I'll never know but I can't get enough of this universe, and the trajectory these characters are on is a masterclass of crossover POV.

პერსონაჟები იდეალურადაა წარმოჩენილი, ნათლად ჩანს როგორ იცვლებიან ისინი, როგორი დამოკიდებულება უყალიბდებათ ერთმანეთთან, ამით მათზე ახალ რაღაცებს ვიგებთ, უფრო ვეჩვევით პერსონაჟებს და გვიყვარდება.

Somewhere between a 4 and a 4.5. I enjoyed the slow burn character building of the first but felt like it was a lot of exposition to get to the main story, which got really started and going with this book. Evenly-paced and intricately plotted, while continuing on the character development well established in the first book. Better in every way to the first book - which I enjoyed! - and what I wanted from a second book in a trilogy.
