This was my second time reading this book. I’ve been picking it up on and off since the summer, in no rush to finish it.
The Wishes Series will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the one that got me back into reading. The first time I found it, I couldn’t put it down even though I was a college student who should have been studying.
There are a handful of books I can say have made me return to my love of reading throughout life and this is certainly one of them. For that reason, reading this book felt nostalgic, revisiting the characters felt a lot like going home.
I have such a long TBR, I try my best not to reread too often unless I feel strongly about the books. I can’t wait to reread the rest of the series, I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed it.

This book is fine, really. The setting is good, the characters have depth, the story is original. However, for some reason, I just don't care to read anymore. I'm 1/3 done with the book and I feel like I've read so much more than that, and it's a trilogy. I have so much stuff to read, I'm moving on.

I honestly don't know if I enjoyed this book or hated it.. all I know is that it didn't wow me. I didn't helplessly fall in love with Adam and I didn't smile so much that I broke my face while reading Charli's quirky comebacks. for me, it was a bit on the average side. there were a lot of things that I couldn't wrap my mind around.

I couldn't understand why Nicole turned against her best friend. like why? and why so sudden. of course, I saw it coming but I just couldn't justify her actions. I understand that Charli dropped her when Adam came to her life and I was furious about this the entire book. but stealing her money and traveling without even telling her mom and that change of attitude so quickly. that is outrageous.

I found some things overly dramatic. like, for example, her finding out her brother was dating her French teacher. all the signs were there but her reaction was very over the top.

I didn't like her interactions with the "beautifuls" it felt too childish. they were 17 going to 18 like come on I know there are some mean girls out there but most of them have reasons that are of course not valid but at least we got some reasoning. in this book, they are just too mean and too childish for no apparent reason.

and Alex being her father and not her brother. WOAH MAJOR PLOT TWIST! I did not see that coming at all and I really didn't like his reasons.

I don't think I'm interested enough to continue with the series.

This book has its good moments and its bad moments. After some time, you find Adam's and Charli's love believable and I was cheering for them all the way until the end... where I found out this was a series. There are several typos and spelling mistakes throughout the novel, but I am intrigued enough to read the second book. This book is not bad at all, it just needs another round of editing in my opinion.

This book is surprisingly good. There were a couple of unexpected twists that I loved. I'm about to start Second Hearts and I'm hoping it'll be as good!

Walker-Smith introduces us Charlie Blake who lives in Piper's Cove in Australia. She is full of trouble and can work a camera. Her life shifts when she meets Adam, who happens to be the cousin of a teacher she dislikes. It was a good read for the weekend.
