Another book read for a video to send to my grandkids. Fun story.

I found this book to be hi-larious. I would love to read it to maybe a 2nd-3rd-4th grade class. It definitely didn't work at Fourth Friday, where the crowd was too young and large. They didn't appreciate the long text and my explanations of the in-picture jokes ("look! They're staring at the wall! Look! They see a circus!"). Plus, little kids don't understand why watching paint dry or using the color beige is funny.

I thought this book was cute, but I'm not really sure who it's for. The humor will go straight over the heads of the Very Little Ones, and even some of the older kiddos. The lesson (let children be children, and know that they will have interests you don't necessarily love or understand) seems more geared toward parents.
(Also, the Dullards' solution of moving away and isolating their kids every time they encounter something they dislike is a little terrifying...)

Anyhow, I'm sure there are kids who will really enjoy this book. It makes you smile when you read it, and that's the goal.
fast-paced

This book tickles my funny bone. It's tongue-and-cheek so if you don't like sarcasm or your kids aren't old enough, then this book isn't for you. But I think it's hysterical! Ordering vanilla ice cream cones with no cones and extracting the vanilla?! Ha!
The ending is not the best but I won't hold that against the book because the rest of it is so clever.
The illustrations are great too.

Think this one was a bit over most toddlers' heads. Very sarcastic – a bit funny for me, but Amaya did literally think that it was dull.

another one of those hipster picture books really aimed at adults. my preschool buddy liked it after I explained what "dull" meant and explained some of the other plot points/illustrations. if it was actually funny funny it would have been worth it, but I didn't even think it was that funny

More fun than watching paint dry! My students love the absurd antics of the world's most boring parents and their secretly exciting children.

This is a good read for a slightly older group, probably best reserved for the most tongue in cheek humored family. It is very similar to The Stupids, though The Stupids will always reserve that special dumb humor in my heart.

Loved this one. I know my kids will love this as well.
