This book wins many many points for making me wax nostalgic about my own 20s spent riding subways in Brooklyn and making up stories for my fellow passengers.

Also Casey McQuiston writes hilarious, warm, and beautifully flawed characters that I want to be friends with.

i basically read this book in one day and it was great! A little hard to read at the beginning but it sure did pick up after a couple of chapters!
the sci-fi twist was something i did not see coming. maybe i’m dumb and did not truly see it coming but i loved it! it was a great twist and made me more interested into the story. seeing august and janes love story throughout the book and the slow burn was everything and more to me! I hope to read more of McQuinston’s works in the future and this book was a great queer love story that i loved!

Oh my heart! I feel all warm and fuzzy and delighted after reading this. What a creative plotline, and it's so incredible to read a book where queer and trans people are thriving and building community. I was surprised by the supernatural/urban fantasy element but I loved it!

This book is everything I have ever wanted. The dialogue, the setting, the romance, the found family, everything about this book. It is beautiful, and it is sad, and it feels very real despite the time travel aspect. I think that is one of the reasons that this book works so well. It is asking you to believe that a woman could get stuck on a train for 45 years, but that is also the least interesting thing about Jane. It’s fascinating, but what is more important is Jane’s story, and August’s story, and the effect that they all have on the people around them. This book is at times heartbreaking, and at times hilarious, and sometimes it is both at the same time. I truly cannot recommend it enough.

I didn't like that one scene where there was a homophobic and racist old man and Jane was talking about it, and August said that people aren't like that anymore, because it's not true, and people are still very racist and homophobic.
