After some disastrous (and hilarious) encounters, tenth-grade English teacher, Noni Blake decides to take a semester-long vacation to reunite with her college crush, and hopefully, find love. Unfortunately for Noni, she finds out that the woman has a girlfriend—after they spent the night together. Noni decides to focus on pursuing pleasure. She buys lingerie, eats what she wants, and decides to get a tattoo. When Noni meets Scottish tattoo artist, Beau, she is immediately attracted to the giant “Viking.” Once her “pleasure quest” is over, how will Noni return to her actual life, and what will she do about Beau? Engaging, heartwarming, and laugh-out-loud funny, Noni’s journey of self-discovery is a must-read.

I was so excited when I heard about this book. I am all about body positivity and this book delivers that in spades as well as a wonderful cast of queer characters to love.
I am loving this trend of taking books with story lines we see again and again but actually making them diverse. Being able to see myself and my community in more popular media never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Christian did a fantastic job with this work. I loved Noni and her (mis)adventures of self discovery. While in the beginning she did seem a bit juvenile to me she definitely matured as the story progressed. Her story was fun and flirty and in place heart felt.
All said and done this book is fantastic both as a book of self discovery but also as an addition to the queer canon. I loved this book and I can not wait to get myself a physical copy!

Basically whiny, boring porn in literary form, wherein the main character, Noni, mistakes "self-realization" and "pleasure seeking" with drunkenly fucking everyone that shows the vaguest interest in her. She is supposed to be "fat" and self conscious about it, but somehow magically, never actually suffers any of the condemnation, commentary, or indignities that actual fat people do. And every person she has even a whiff of attraction to is wildly attracted to her as well and can't wait to hop on the bone train. (Seriously, do any of these people have even the slightest concern about STDs?) Also, the death of her one night stand, who is referred to in passing once or twice throughout the entire book, and who initially SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF, was a gross and ugly framing device that used that death purely to launch her on her drunken bed hopping tour of Australia and Europe. I should have stopped reading there, but I kept on in hopes that the humor and empowerment the reviews mentioned would come through. It didn't.

After the sudden death of a former lover, Noni takes a sabbatical to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Her goal is to follow where pleasure takes her—but she doesn't expect to fall in love. When it comes time to return home, which path will she choose?

This book is about shedding external expectations and living for what brings you joy. It's largely a sexual journey, but not an erotic. Many of the sexually explicit scenes are more cerebral (and even humorous) than titillating. The humor often tends toward the crude and scatalogical.

I enjoyed the characters and the emotion. It's a fun and uplifting book.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

FUN.  Noni sets out on a journey to find happiness.  She starts by reevaluating missed sexual opportunities, and ends up on a pleasure journey.  There are many characters I really enjoy in this book, and I really enjoyed my time.  The male love interest is very appealing.
My main criticism is that Noni sees her weight as her biggest flaw, and it is brought up often in her inner thoughts as others routinely validate her beauty.

Hello. I am obsessed with this book.

I don’t know where to start but really, this was incredible, laugh out loud funny and just hit all the right notes for me. Maybe it’s Bc I’m a mid 30s, unmarried gal myself, so I identified with Noni. But I think what I loved the most is how honest it all felt. Refreshingly honest and without judgement.

I don’t want to say too much more about the plot line, because I think the surprise of how it all plays out is the best part. But let’s just say our gal Noni decides she needs some change in her life, and this is the hysterical, messy but raw account of that.

This was another @therippedbodice #readromancerepeat subscription box pick, and clearly the lesson here is that I should read them faster
