What a joyous read this was! I had seen this book plastered over book groups and bookstagram for the past few months and when I needed something light and funny I thought I’d give it a try. It was just what the doctor ordered! A brilliant mix of wit, sex, feminism and romance all wrapped up into a gorgeous uplifting book. The epitome of “feel good” in every way. Just delightful!

A fair bit of repetition and unnecessary filler. Annoying how much of the 'pleasure quest' involved getting wasted and having sex with random people. As it was a repetitive concept that lacked depth. But an easy sort of 'beach read'.

Well I seriously underestimated this book. I fully expected it to be a typical ~woman goes on journey of self discovery~ but I really enjoyed it!
Noni’s decision to live her life by what brings her pleasure was complicated. She figures out how to do that with her past traumas and insecurities she doesn’t even realize she has internalized. And then the romance

This was a lovely journey. Bridget Jones vibes, but a bit raunchier (sometimes hilariously so). It wasn’t perfect, but I liked the side characters, and was pleasantly captivated by the central romance. As a non-fictional high school English teacher, I would have liked Noni to…talk about books? Mention reading beyond saying she read a few novels on her trip? Her experiences with students did ring true, though, so I did like that element. Overall, I’m just envious/appreciative of her quest. If only we could all answer that call!

this book hit me SO hard, especially on the second half. i want to be noni blake—someone who learns that she deserves happiness and can go out and find it, someone who learns that she doesn’t have to accept a life of just getting by. this wasn’t always the best written, but it was endearing and moving and inspiring and i loved it.

docking one star because the first part was pretty slow; it took me 9 days to read this short book.

This book has literally made me want to YOLO ( do people even say that anymore) the heck out of my life! I can't express how much I loved this book. I was hooked from the first page. Noni is a plus size, bisexual woman in her late thirties. I love that Noni's weight wasn't used as something she should be ashamed of, and that this story of her finding herself didn't include loosing weight to see herself as worthy. There were times she felt very relatable; not only being plus sized, but also as woman in her late thirties and not being were she thought she would be in her life. This book is full of Noni trying to "find herself "; while doing that she ends up taking a 6 month hiatus from work where she takes a vacation ("pleasure quest") where she sees a few old friends, meets some new lifelong friends, has some solo adventures in a new country and ends up having multiple sexual partners. So for that reason I will say that originally I wasn't convinced that this was a romance, I thought for sure it was more women's fiction, but in the end I would say it is a romance. Not really a spoiler IMO but Noni does find someone, and this book does end in a happily ever after/happy for now. I really liked the side characters, and Noni's love interest, and I loved watching her journey/pleasure quest. I laughed out loud so many times reading this book, but there are definetly some heavy topics discussed. Some trigger warning include body shaming, miscarriage, death of a "friend", and infertility.

I loved everything about this book! Noni was such a relatable character and I just wanted the book to last forever. I would definitely recommend this.
