The idea of the plot was good but as it went on the story seemed to drag out. In the end it had a shocking and interesting twist of an ending so I have to 4 stars instead of 3. It just seems it could have or should have been a bit more condensed.

What would you do if your husband was accused of hurting your best friend? This book take you on a journey through the lives of six college friends, mostly told from Allison’s (Ali) perspective. From her difficult relationship with her father, to wanting to be noticed and loved by her college boyfriend, Mike, Alison has longed for the perfect marriage and craved the ideal family and home life she never had. A tight knit group from their early college days, these friends have celebrated success and kept secrets buried in order to preserve their lives. When a reunion dinner party goes awry and Karen accuses Mike of a brutal crime, how will this revelation affect their friendship? Will those secrets from college suddenly become revealed? This story is carefully crafted and absolutely intoxicating. If you enjoy domestic thrillers, I would definitely recommend checking out this book.

Truly enjoyed this one! Written well, showing the complexities of people - we are all mixtures of both light and dark, aren't we? Her characters were all varying shades of gray.

I didn't guess the ending and there were so many twists, I kept thinking, "What could possibly happen next?" Also, thinking as if I were the characters, I kept wondering if I would've made the same choices (hopefully NOT, in most cases)!

Got this one as one of my free Amazon First Reads choices, and couldn't be more pleased; I think this is the best one I've read so far! Give it a read, you won't regret it!

This book honestly kept me entertained. It was extremely predictable but sucked me in regardless. Major trigger warnings regarding rape and assault. The book opens up with Karen stumbling in to her best friend, Ali's kitchen bruised and broken claiming to have been attacked by Mike, who happens to be Ali's husband. The book takes us through the story of not only what really happened and how it has the potential to ruin the lives of the six friends involved as well as flashing back to their days at Oxford in an eerily similar situation.

This book overall was not bad and if you are looking for a quick read that will keep you engaged regardless of predictability I would recommend this one.

It seems like there are a lot of books these days where the protagonist is a woman who makes a lot of stupid decisions. This is another one. Just kind of meh. I figured out the main twist fairly early and the characters are rather flat.

Great Read

This book kept me on my toes the entire time! Great suspense read that’s different than most. Would definitely recommend.

I main character here is a complete idiot and I'm not sure how this book continued after the first few chapters. The premise is as follows: A group of friends from college are having a reunion of sorts 25 years later and, during this reunion, one of the women is raped. She accuses her best friend's husband of the rape. This puts the main character smack dab in the middle: Do you believe your best friend or your husband? Okay -- the premise is quite interesting. Unfortunately within a few chapters you realize that the plot is going to take you through backstories from college, uncover 'secrets' that these people have, and you find out rather quickly no one here is likable.

Spoilers ahead....... When you find out that your husband and best friend were having a lengthy affair, that's when you walk away. At that point you don't sit around pondering if your husband is a liar or if your best friend is a liar... just walk away and be done with it. I was done with this book less than 20% through it because of this nonsense.

Terrible characters with lots of secrets, a 'twist' at the end that honestly isn't that amazing, and overall a bland book that had a good premise but definitely failed to deliver.

Psychological thrillers are my favorite genre, but this one was just so-so.
