read the first 100 pages, skimmed the rest. this reminded me a bit of "beautiful disaster" by jamie mcguire, which i also couldn't stomach.

i just can't handle the overly-protective creepy boyfriends anymore. noah watches over elle, tells her what is and isn't appropriate to wear, warns the other boys in school to stay away from her, and gets violent when they don't. she puts up a little fight, yeah, but then he kisses her and she forgets all of her woes. sure, i can see that it seems sweet and kind of fun if you like the dude. but the thing that's starting to freak me out about books like this (twilight series, 50 shades, beautiful disaster, even the crossfire series which i kind of love) is what happens if a dude you don't like does stuff like this? not okay, right? restraining order? i guess i've been able to handle crap like this in small doses but as a pattern it's really starting to wear on me.

other than that major irritation point and the implausible fantasy dream-romance plot, the writing here is pretty clumsy. yes, i know she was 17 when she wrote it. still clumsy. overall, not my cuppa tea, but i grudgingly see an audience for it among my patrons.

To be honest. Forgettable. DEFINITELY needed some better editing. But the story got better as it went on. I still enjoyed it. It was just rough around the edges.

Not well written

I read this over 10 years ago when it was on Wattpad and there was one storyline that stuck out to me. Elle was pregnant and then there was an earthquake at school and something (I think a locker) fell on her and she lost the baby. I can see why that wasn't included in the film.

Honestly, I dont know how I feel about this book. It's exactly how I feel about the movie.

I didn’t enjoy this book at all. It’s taken me this long to even rate it. It was so predictable and there was absolutely little to no plot. The characters were flat. And it was just boring in my opinion. Don’t waste your time.

This book was awful.

I had very mixed reviews of the book since I watched the movie first. I absolutely fell in love with the movie so naturally had to read the book. The story was still there so I was attached the characters already. However, you can definitely tell this was a story that originated on Wattpad. The grammar wasn’t always there and some of the phrases used and general wording of the sentences were just awkward. Overall, cute story, but you can tell it was written by a 15 year-old. Props to her though!

BUT!!!! I did read that the author develops more as a writer in her second book so I’m absolutely giving that book a go!
