I listened to the audio book version of this purely because I love Stephanie, the lead female narrator.
I have to say this book is an easy “read”. Very vivid scene and full of emotional moments. It was OK but lacks some unique touches.
My biggest issue is the bland story core. Other than the traumatic past which triggered the psychological issues, the relationship between all of the characters are so superficial. I don’t end up liking or truly care any of them.
The story on the island side is also a little draggy. And some of the alter personalities were not explained well. Why were they there? Just to make up a number of 4?

A woman wakes on a remote Greek island with no recollection of who she is or how she got there. Meanwhile, in London, a man is searching for his missing wife, Eloise. Slowly we find out how these stories intersect, resulting in an incredibly beautifully written story.

I was captivated by this book after the first line, and the mystery of how everything would unfold kept me so engaged that I didn’t want to put it down. I went into reading this knowing there would be a twist, so I ended up suspecting the ending. However, I had many other guesses as to how the story would play out as well, so it wasn’t necessarily obvious. This was a refreshingly different type of thriller, and I’d highly recommend to those who are are fans of the psychological thriller genre.

With alternating chapters, this thriller keeps the reader guessing from the beginning to nearly the end with many questions that get answered in the last few chapters.

A woman washes up on shore in Greece and is rescued by four people. With not knowing her name they can't help her find out where she belongs. In London a husband comes home from a work trip because the neighbor reports his wife missing and his two young children left home alone.

A woman wakes up on an island unsure of her name or how she got there.

Her husband is home with a baby and a toddler wondering where his wife has gone.

Lots of twists and turns that kept me engaged.

This was such an intriguing story!

Eloïse wakes up on a Greek Island and remembers nothing. There's a group of 4 people on the island as well, who rescue her. In the meantime, her husband, children and grandparents are going crazy with worry in the UK. A third narrative of the story takes us back to Eloïse's childhood.

Ar first, the story is pretty slow but then it takes off and I raced through it trying to figure out what happened to Eloïse while she herself is trying to do the same thing. I figured it out at about two thirds in, and then raced through it even faster, to find out whether I was right and how Cooke would bring that home. I can't really go into all that without giving away too much, but I really liked it. The afterwords explains the author's choices and reasons and gave me goosebumps.

Highly recommended!
