Better than most of his books, but some of the dialogue comes off as stilted or unoriginal. Still, a good story for a Sunday afternoon spent reading on the sofa.

Not bad! I read this a LONG time ago when I was a young adult. I couldn't remember it, so decided to read it again. I liked it well enough. It's very on-brand with Sparks writing. Not really surprising or exciting, but emotional and heart-strings tugging.

Son of a...

This was one of the most exciting, suspenseful, romantic, stressful, shocking, heartbreaking books I have read. I had no idea Nicholas Sparks was capable of this, and I was never really a huge fan, but I am now. Read this. Seriously. Wow.

P

I have a soft spot for Nicolas Sparks. It's all very very bad. Like so bad. But I like to hate-read it and I'll never stop.

(THE NOTEBOOK AND A WALK TO REMEMBER ARE OBVI NOT INCLUDED)

Nicholas Sparks really doesn't like women. If you're coming to his books with the hope of finding strong women you're not going to find them here. He loves his heroines but only if they fit a certain standard. They're not allowed to be flighty or too overtly female (NO PINK ALLOWED). Also- no salads (that's sissy food) and no women's empowerment talk (there's an actual convo in this book about how feminists hate all men).

But yet- I've read this book like 4x

Amazing as Always.

I like this one because it features a Great Dane as a main character. Again, as all Sparks books go, fairly predictable, but I liked it.

Typical N.S. Novel - a nice predictable story all wrapped in a bow. I am not saying it was bad, not by any means.

Julie lived a rough life and was helped by an 'angel' whom she eventually married. Too soon after he passed away but left her with a Great Dane name Singer. He literally stole the show. You know from page 1 that he is the Gaurdian and is somehow connected to her husband Jim.

Julie is finally ready to get in with her life and start dating. Mike, Jim's best friend has become her best friend as well, and he silently is I love with her. It appears it is too late to admit his feelings when she starts dating Richard. Something is off with Richard, that is pretty clear from their first meeting.

You can sense the rest. It's a sad-happy ending.

I gave up on this one. I have no problem with a good romance and I have no problem with people who love Nicholas Sparks books but they're just not for me.
