Tear Me Apart

J.T. Ellison

4.0 AVERAGE

Lovvved it! I just loved the way J.T. Ellison writes. It always has you guessing what actually happened until the very end. It makes reading so enjoyable when you can't wait to read what happens next.

What a ride! This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. In exchange for a copy of the book from Harlequin/Netgalley I am posting an honest review. The story follows the Wright family as their life is turned upside down. Following the bad skiing accident of their Olympic bound daughter Mindy, not only do they discover Mindy has leukemia, but that they are not her biological parents! What happened to Mindy’s real parents? How did Mindy come to be with her family here in Vail? Someone is hiding something and the truth that has been concealed all these years is bound to come out. Some of the things that happened were a little far fetched, and I had figured out the ending earlier on. But the story love kept giving me so many twists and turns that it didn’t matter. One criticism I would say is that the book starts a little slow. Part 2 it really starts amping up. It’s worth it!

I wanted to like this book, but I barely got through it. At times, I felt as if the author was writing for a child. She explained every single thing. I guess that's why it's almost 500 pages. Plus, I also found that a lot of the book just wasn't plausible.

Listened to on Audible! This was another fun one. Multiple point of views, different timelines and plenty of plot twists. Although I predicted the ending, it was still entertaining getting there!

This is a longer book but it was a good read.

This book is told in a couple different voices and in 3 parts. There are written letters between “V” and Liesel, and the voices of Lauren and Zack.

The question of the book is: What would you do for your best friend? And after you’ve done what was asked of you, just how long could you get away with it? Of course there are some warped ways things change and how things are viewed but that’s part of the twists and turns.

A young phenom of a skier, Mindy, gets into an accident and breaks her leg. She’s out for several weeks and in the course of her much needed surgery they all discover she’s got cancer and needs a transplant from a close match biologically. Easy, right? A mother, a father and an aunt in close proximity. But when the tests are run and they find out that neither her mother, aunt, nor her father are a biological match for her, what the bloody hell is going on and will they figure it out before it’s too late for Mindy?

Wild Ride!

One of my favorite books this year. I really enjoyed all the voice actors. Every time I had to stop listening I couldn't wait to start again. Really creative plot with lots of twists and turns. Very engaging characters. Looking forward to other books by this author.

Super addicting and twisty, couldn't stop listening and really loved the story. Would def recommend!

Mindy Wright is headed for the Olympic Ski Team, until she crushes her leg in a fall and discovers she also has leukemia. Her parents have sacrificed everything and totally supported their daughter in her quest for excellence. When a bone marrow donation is needed, all are shocked to learn that her parents are not a match. And that's when her mother must make a few confessions. The story goes back and forth between this current situation and 20 years ago as told via letters written between two girlfriends. Hard to believe a sociopath can hide so easily.

Good Read! I’ll say 3.5 to 4 stars which is a high rating for me. Interesting from the opening crash on the slopes with good character development and a strong switched at birth kind of story. I enjoyed it and you probably will also.
