Why do I do this to myself?! Recycled material, terribly written, nothing new here. Remind myself not to buy any book that is half filled with extra large text quoting itself to make up for the triteness of it all.

This is such a good read for January in my opinion. It's not a hold your hand and tell you all the things you can do if you just stay positive. No, it's a book that is going to tell you to stop being lazy, stop self-sabotaging yourself and own your life. Will definitely be returning to the passages I enjoyed in the future when I need motivation. Also it's a very short book, only 3.5 h in audiobook format.
medium-paced
The only reason I read this book until the end was the fact that the audiobook was gifted to me by my friend. Other than that, it will be a long time before I DNFed this book.
Everything he mentioned was recycled "self-help advice" and except for repeating the same thing over and over again, he didn't mention anything useful.
There were some moments that didn't sit right with me.
1. The abuse you've suffered: who cares?
2. If you don't have something you like, it's your fault.
3. Stop eating that burger & hit the gym you overweight bitch.
4. You will die, but who cares?
5. You're poor? I have a program. Sign up for it instead of buying your daily coffee.
6. Don't expect anything. Do everything RELENTLESSLY, cuz you don't deserve anything anyway.
It might be "inspiring" for some people when he screams the same words in your ear, but not for me. It annoyed the shit out of me when he shouted like that & kinda felt like an annoying AI at some point.
I wanted to find some good self-help books, but this isn't one of them for sure.

I don’t like self help books, this one hit different. I honestly felt like I was being yelled at out of my mind. In a good way.

I listened to the audiobook and at times I felt like I was thoroughly being cussed out with the aggression and rage that was behind the narration. That was a little jarring and off-putting but aside from that the content was good. Not much different from the other self-help/motivational books around but a reminder every now and then is a push in the right direction.
Nothing completely groundbreaking but the simplification of some common self-help topics was a great refresher on how your thoughts can actually get in the way of your progress. It was a quick read full of some really excellent one-liners and quotes that will stick with me for a while. Having read it back to back with "the subtle art of not giving a F" I much preferred this one. It lifted me up and motivated me to want to get sh*t done. Very glad I picked this one up.
While this is nothing new, I think the beauty in this iteration of what's being said is that there are people who don't need the fluff in most self-help books. A lot of these books are geared toward women, and I think this is something men would enjoy more than having sunshine blown up the rear-end.
