I am dropping this book as I have zero interest in reading it. I may come back to it in the future when I am not busy with many series as I am now, so that I can finish this book in peace.

Even better the second time around. Everything clicks into place. It seemed sad, however, to part with the series. So I'll continue with the next book in the series by Eoin Colfer, but I know the series ends here. It was and will continue to be such a joy of reading I will come back to at some point in time.

I'M FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!

With the entire series. Here's my problem: I rarely find the energy to stick out series'ssss. (say that in a Gollum voice and you have perfection). YA trilogies seem to be easier, mostly because of the sparser plotlines (looking at you Hunger Games/Divergent/and somewhat Harry Potter series).

The ONLY reason I stuck with Hitchhiker's Guide is I picked this for my trilogy during the Reading Challenge. And this series is Dave's favorite. He owns all of them.

So, I loved aspects of this. Irreverence is a plus but seemed to be lacking. I got bogged down in details that I'm not 100% sure were ever fleshed out by Adams in this book or previous ones. By that point, I was pushing through to the finish line. I also liked the character of Tricia/Trillian. I liked Arthur and Random too.

I didn't like Ford and he was one of my favorites in the beginning. When he got depressed, he never seemed to recover and I just found him annoying.

My advice: start 1 and then read each individually afterwards instead of trying to plow through the Ultimate guide. I should probably learn from this and The Complete Stories of Flannery O'Connor to not attempt anthologies of a writer I've never read. But I probably won't learn my lesson. C'est le vie.

I must say that it's a great ending to the series because I liked this book at best. Still not more worth than three stars because as I've said many times: I don't like science fiction I guess.
Only Doctor Who if you want to know.

With the series I've bought I liked the covers. Together you've got the whole circles. I liked that!

I just don't know what more to say in this book I liked Adams his writing in this one the most. I liked Trillian, I liked Ford and of course Arthur my sandwich man. I don't know yet if I liked Random. For first of all, she was Random. Being the daughter of Trillian and Arthur. Besides: WHERE THE HELL IS FERNCHURCH? I liked her although her name... but let's not talk about that.

at first I was confused because in So Long and Thanks for all the Fish they say that the road and Vogons didn't happen. But yet the Earth is gone so that was a bit confusing anyway I can live with that. Apart from the fact that Arthur lost Fernchurch but not my problem. I liked Ford his story at best even though I didn't liked him in the other parts anymore.

I did end up liking this more the the last fish one. Still got lukewarm feelings for the series tough. They are entertaining, sure but don't see why is has such massive fan base.

....what kind of ending is that

Well, that was a rather depressing ending. Wouldn't have minded it if the series had ended at book 4 instead.
