Was funny at times but dragged on way too much at times and felt repetitive. Also I did not enjoy how they added tons of characters who didn’t get any kind of development or seemed like they should have stayed around longer. Not a terrible read but I definitely won’t continue the series

Very good narrator, and an entertaining listen.

The Writing is good, the narration is good... It just isn't that interesting. Yes, it is predictable, but that doesn't bother me with this genre, it just didn't keep my attention much. The book is filled with misogyny and xenophobia (not solely towards actual aliens).

If you like the movie Independence Day, you might like this book, but only if you wished the main character was "a good ol' boy".

If you do not like cliffhanger endings, this book is not for you. There were two "objectives" of this book. The first one was anticlimactic, and the second was the cliffhanger.

I am a completionist, but I probably wouldn't read any more of this series... unless I ever get through my TBR list.

So, not terrible, but there is much better out there... Try Martha Well's Murderbot Diaries instead.
