I Could Be Yours is the latest in the Toronto Terrors—they’re both terror-adjacent at least, while not being directly tied to the hockey team.

Essie is Rix's best friend. Nate is the brother of Tristan. We met them in the first book of the series. Now it’s time for their wedding.

Essie is a picture-perfect best friend and is doing everything in her power to make all the wedding events unforgettable for the couple, even if it means working with the boy who kissed her and ghosted her, the best man.

Helena Hunting takes us into the brain of both halves of this duo. In Essie, we hear her insecurities and frustrations at being judged solely for her looks. She’s also a people pleaser who prioritizes everyone else's needs over her own.

Nate is a brother trying to hold everyone together. Afraid to try letting anyone in after watching his marriage implode. We hear his concerns and worries about being enough for anyone to stay.

Through a delightful forced proximity destination wedding, we’re surrounded by characters and couples we love, and we get a front row seat to the banter and tension Essie and Nate are giving off.

Hunting is also open to discussing the mental and emotional health aspects of both their issues—I especially love the open way therapy is presented, and the benefits of it are addressed through multiple characters.

Definitely a good read!

Helena Hunting is always going to deliver a fun romcom with plenty of laughs and spice.

I really enjoyed our main couple. Essie and Nate have known each other since high school but Nate ghosted Essie after they shared a kiss. Understandly, Essie is upset and angry at Nate for this. However, they are forced together because of a wedding. Watching these two bicker and fight their love was fun. The banter was great and the chemistry between them sizzles. The spice is steamy too.

Narrators Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton did wonderful bringing this to life. I laughed so hard because of their line deliveries. Would recommend the audiobook for sure!

For readers who have read the Toronto Terrors series, there are a cameos from previous characters which was cool. I would still say you could read this as a standalone.

Would recommend!

Nate and Essie’s story is finally here and what an interesting one it is. I’ve been curious about these two since they were introduced in the earlier books.

Nate has so many feelings but only shows certain ones. Having been traumatised as a kid he’s broken, he’s damaged and has walls built up around his heart and refuses to let anyone in, to love anyone. He’s insanely talented and very intelligent but he’s constantly stuck on a grumpy setting.

Essie is the complete opposite, she’s sunshine and rainbows. She loves hard even though her heart gets broken often. She’s soft and full of happiness and always makes sure everyone is happy even the grey cloud that is Nate.

These two together shouldn’t work but they do, they work so well. Their constant banter, arguing and competitive streak had me laughing because you could just see the sexual tension emitting from the both of them.

As usual we get cameo’s from past characters that we all know and love. It’s always a pleasant surprise seeing them pop up.

Also can I just talk about that ending, I mean I’m pretty sure I knew it was coming, that I heard it somewhere but it still surprised me. I can’t wait for that story to be told.

Helena Hunting once again did an amazing job of bringing these characters to life and their story. I felt for Nate so much, I just wanted to reach in and hug the heck out of him.

I Could Be Yours is an Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance romance with a beautiful combination of sweet and emotional moments and of course some spicy in the mix too.

“God, you get under my skin.” “Good. That’s been my goal from the start.” “Mission accomplished.”

This book had everything that I was expecting! Nate & Essie's chemistry gave me butterflies and I was rooting for them since the beginning! The tension and banter between them was so sizzling and I loved how their awkward run-ins turned into heated encounters. Essie was soft, kind and sensible and Nate was thoughtful and reliable, in addition with being just the right amount of broody. Even all the side characters were so fun and supportive. And seeing Tristan & Rix's wedding was so heartwarming! Overall, this was a feel good romance and the epilogue left me with a big smile. Also, I can't wait for Mildred & Connor's book because their crumbs in this one have me on a chokehold!

  | When Grumpy is the epitome of grumpiness, and Sunshine is princess fairy dust and shimmers! Yup, that is these two to a T, but there is more below the surface. Love how the authour makes such a broken hero, but broken in a good way? Love how our heroine presents all that light, but wants someone to see below it, to her true heart and soul. Love how they think they can keep it all physical. Love how they thought they could bury their insecurities. Love how they kept their grumpiness and sunshine, even after they worked everything out, and get their happily ever after <3

I Could Be Yours is the perfect summer rom-com that left a huge smile on my face. I love a good second-chance romance, but add in grumpy/sunshine vibes and fun banter, and I am all in. Essie and Nate shared a kiss 6 years ago, but the next day, Nate ghosted her, and they haven’t talked since. Now, their best friends are getting married, and Essie and Nate are stuck spending a lot of time together. As they plan the wedding events, old feelings start to come back, and they start to see each other in a different light. I loved the push and pull between these two. They are opposites, but somehow they fit well together. Essie is all sunshine, loves pink, and believes in true love. She's a makeup artist who dreams of a fairytale romance. Nate is grumpy and broken, but also vulnerable. He is trying to deal with past trauma. Their story is steamy, fun, and full of laughs, but what I loved most was the character growth. Realizing the need for help is a huge step for anyone to take, and I loved that Nate wanted to be better for Essie. In the end, Nate does the work, and we get a super satisfying happy ending.

Narration:
Savannah Peachwood & Teddy Hamilton perform this audiobook in duet. I had a really good time listening to their performances as Essie and Nate. These two are super talented voice actors and flawlessly brought the story to life. Savannah and Teddy nailed the swoon, banter, tension, and the delicious chemistry between Essie and Nate.

Ah Nate! Since we first got a glimpse of you on the page, I've been itching to learn more about you. And I'm so glad you and Essie's paths crossed again to give us this spicy, grumpy sunshine summer read!

Now there is never a wrong time for a grumpy sunshine book. And with the state of the world right now, I crave characters like Essie who work tirelessly to bring out the best in everyone around them, because it gives us a reprieve. She's even doing it for us the reader!

I first eyeball read this, and then when I heard who the narrators (hum hum Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood!!!!!) were I didn't need any coaxing to dive right back into this story. Now I'm usually a fan of Dual narration, but these two in duet were so well matched! A grumpy Teddy and a Sunshine Savannah gave us chemistry that had me fanning myself more than once!

𝐈 adored this story! It's a perfect summer read with great banter. Nate and Essie's story starts with a shared kiss, but then Nate ghosted her. Now, as maid of honor and best man at their friends' wedding, they're forced to spend time together, unable to resist their mutual attraction.

🎧𝐓𝐡𝐞 dynamic between Essie, a hopeless romantic, and Nate, a skeptic who shies away from love, is both hilarious and heartwarming. Their contrasting personalities somehow fit together perfectly, creating the best chemistry. The duet narration by 𝐓𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐧 and 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 brings these characters to life in the most wonderful way!

If you're a fan of opposites-attract romances, I highly recommend "𝐈 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬". The audio version is such a treat! A big thank you to Helena Hunting for providing me with an ARC/ALC of this book. All opinions expressed here are my own.

I Could Be Yours was cute and spicy, which is pretty much everything I need in a romance. Essie was my kind of sunshine girl - obsessed with spreadsheets, organization, and the color pink, but with a bit of a wild side when she let herself loose. Nate was the typical grump who couldn’t imagine falling in love, which I totally understood because he had a really crappy childhood view of it. Overall they were a great balance for each other.

I did feel like there was a little something missing from the book in terms of emotions. It felt like a sudden jump from frenemies-with-benefits to love, without much emotional relationship building in between. They did get the emotions flushed out toward the end, but I would’ve loved to see a bit more pining and inner turmoil from Nate in particular before the third-act breakup.

This is the start of a new spin-off series from the Toronto Terror (which I haven’t read yet) and it stood alone just fine. I usually hate dropping into interconnected standalones in the middle of the series, but this gave us just enough to get to know the characters from previous books while not feeling like the focus was on them or making it confusing that we didn’t start at the beginning of the friendships. That said, I’m definitely going to go back and read the Terror series now, because I loved the relationships/characters that were carried over to this new series!

The duet audiobook narration by Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood was perfect. They’re two of my favorite romance narrators and they executed their banter flawlessly. It came across so much better in duet than it would have in dual, so I’m glad they chose that style. The overall production was super well done - you couldn’t tell whether they recorded in the same room or had their recordings spliced together, which to me is the mark of a great audiobook.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Helena Hunting for the ARC of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review! I received it as part of Helena’s Badass Babe Brigade Street Team (my first ARC from her!) and I’m so glad I was able to read it early!
