Solid 2.5. I feel for such a short book not much happened but a lot happened at the same time? Would’ve been better if they went into their teenage love story more like the movie does tbh

Not gonna lie, I loved this more than I thought I would. The back story of both Dawson and Amanda was so heartbreaking. Dawson has a special place in my heart. The amount of trauma this man had dealt with was too much and I just felt for him the entire book. Amanda was seriously very annoying at times with her decisions. I just wanted to shake her so bad. I love the way Sparks writes his stories. He can really tug at the heartstrings and I shed a few tears at the ending.

Just didn't care about the characters. Felt like a rewrite of the notebook

Lots of characters to keep track of in this one and the ending is pretty explosive. It was fairly predictable but in a satisfying way I suppose. There were truly some beautiful scenes in this book (the wildflowers) and you can't help but root for the main characters, but the "bad" characters felt one dimensional for me. They were bad because they were bad and single-minded in their badness to the point of destruction. Sometimes this book read a bit like The Notebook because the love story starts when the main characters are young and they meet again as adults and letters play a big part in their reunion time together. There's more violence in this book like in his last book Safe Haven. It's not enough to dominate the story, but it's enough to make some scenes tough to read. Overall, I think diehard Nicholas Sparks fans will like his recent offering, but it probably won't end up being anyone's favorite book by him.

En väldigt väldigt bra och gripande bok som var svår att lägga ner! Jag måste erkänna att den fick mig att börja gråta vid ett flertal tillfällen!

First Nicholas Sparks book I have ever read and was not disappointed. This was a rollercoaster of emotions. I saw the movie before, so I knew how it ended, but it was so different from the book it didn't matter that much. Dawson made me cry I love him so much. Love the ending even though it broke my heart.
