This one tackled some really tough situations. It made me think about quite a few different things and portrayed a teenager in a more realistic light. Really liked it!

Sorry to say this wasn’t my favorite. The mystery was really drawn out and didn’t hold much interest for me. Foreshadowing was pretty strong so I didn’t feel too surprised by anything. I missed the author’s strong witty voice that seems much more relatable in the rest of the series.

Also, maybe it’s been too long since I read the first two books, but can someone please explain to me how these characters are connected to the series? I kept wracking my brain to try and remember any relationship connections.

Not really sure why this is #4 in the series as I didn't recognize any characters from the previous novels, but that is really neither here nor there. Beautiful story about family and friends, secrets and lies, the power of love and forgiveness.

Really light novel which is surprising given some of the subject matter - arson, bullying, sexual harassment, etc.... Ginny's husband is in the middle of a scandal and her reactions to it are a bit too easy going to be believed. There are also flashbacks to when Ginny was a teenager and some of the drama from that time with her group of friends and family. The ending was a bit ridiculous but despite all that I still enjoyed most of the book and found it to be a very quick read.

I'd Give Anything by Marisa de los Santos
There's two stories in this one book that intertwine together.
Story starts out with Ginny and she's just learned from her spouse, Harris that he's been fired.
She learns so much more, but he keeps a LOT of other secrets to himself. The teen daughter also finds out, not much but she reaches out to the girl he was a mentor to where he worked.
Avery learns her side to the story and at times can't believe her father did some things.
While this is all going on there is another story here in between the pages. Ginny when she was in high school and the group of her friends one night a terrible secret came out to destroy one and a fire kills a fireman...
Ginny spends time in later years at the park talking to Daniel and others at the dog park. She is able to discover some clues to that night so long ago...
Harris has a sit down with his wife and daughter as they ask him questions and he informs them of his hardships dealing with everything and who he turns to for help.
Very emotional story and how it all works out I found unbelievable.
Received this review copy via giveaway at Library Thing and this is my honest opinion.

What if a tragedy occurred during your high school years? And secrets only you knew, tore your 4-some of besties apart? And 20 years later, you are forced to face all those secrets? Are you ready to reopen those wounds? Especially when your 15-year old daughter wants the truth, too?

I’d Give Anything is the first book I’ve read by Marisa de Los Santos, even though many of her books are on my to-be-read list. Her storytelling captured my attention and kept me pulled in. It moved along well, the characters were believable, and I really wanted to meet these guys on the street, in person. My heart broke for Gray and Ginny, both going through their own tragedies, one unbeknownst to the other. This story hits on the importance of truth - to your friends, to your family, and yourself. It’s about being brave enough to search for truth and knowing when you know a person well enough to understand unspoken truths. And it’s about the harmful effects of secrets. I’d Give Anything is one of the best books I’ve read so far this year.

I love Marisa de los Santos because her books tend to suck me in fast and keep my interest. This book was a little different. The meat of the story didn’t come until about halfway through and unfortunately, my interest was gone by then. The jumping between 1997 and now didn’t add to the story in my opinion. I almost wish the big secret had been revealed in the prologue and then I would have been more invested.

Also, the marriage/divorce plot didn’t really grab me because I wasn’t invested in Harris as a character.
