This should be a REQUIRED read for everyone.. it is so important to understand how our mind and body develop after experiencing any sort of trauma. Wow. Let’s shift the conversation from “What is wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”. Great book with lots of helpful information (that is referenced and easy to grasp all throughout the book), and stories that show examples of the intricacy of trauma in the life of an individual. Wonderfully written.

This book has taught me so much about the brain and our emotions and how they all link with the adversities we have been through. At times it can be quite technical but I like how they then give a layman example which helped me to understand more fully. It can be challenging to read at times but I found it easy to come back to after a break. It really did teach me a lot, would recommend!
