I love this book! I usually don’t read contemporary romance, so I have to be honest, I was a little nervous going into it (I’m usually more of a dystopian or historical fiction-type reader). But oh my goodness, I was hooked after the first few chapters! I love that I was able to sense what Liv and Jax were feeling as they went through their story; having the chapters split up between two points of view was so perfect; it kept me reading! I can't wait for the next in this series!

Not for me, thus no rating because it’s not the authors fault that I’m a dirty sl*t who needs spicy spice to enjoy a book. Maybe .5 on the spice scale. The word “folds” was used but not “clit” and I can’t make sense of that because if we’re being honest here, folds is way worse than clit

I can't believe I waited so long to read this INCREDIBLE start to what I am sure is going to be one of my favorite series. Set in Nashville, this reverse age gap, friends to lovers, dual POV, rockstar romance gave me ALL THE FEELS!!!

Funny and absolutely full of heart, the cast of characters in this book are all so strong in their own rights. Liv is a recently divorced bakeshop owner who had dreams of being a singer and when she, her best friend Ella, and Ella's daughter Grace, go to a Midnight in Dallas concert they get to meet the band.

The sparks between Liv and Jax, the lead singer, are instantaneous but it takes Liv a while to warm up to his charms since she's afraid nothing meaningful could work between them. Struggling with writer's block, Liv helps Jax start writing some songs and along the way the two form a deep bond that neither can resist.

Jax is such a supportive book boyfriend! I loved how he encouraged Liv to keep trying and reminded her that she wasn't too old to chase after musical dreams. Full of humor, amazing found family and soooo many swoony moments. I seriously cannot recommend this book enough and have no idea how the author is going to top this mind blowing debut.

Perfect for fans of The happy ever after playlist by Abby Jimenez, When in Rome by Sarah Adams or The idea of you by Robinne Lee. This book is a prime of example of why you shouldn't discount indie authors, it will definitely be going on my favorites of the year pile and I can't wait to devour the next two books in the series!

I loved this book! I flew through it! I must say I think my favourite thing from this book is the sense of family between each friend group alone and together. I loved the instant connection between Jax and Olivia and they had so much chemistry! The fact that Olivia wasn’t your typical 20 year old was a nice refresher too. I enjoyed that Jax was upfront and honest about his feelings.I always love a book when the main characters make eachother better!

I can’t wait to read about everyone’s stories!

Thank you to @melissagrace for the copy in exchange for a honest review

Melissa Grace flawlessly writes a love story that takes place in Nashville. This book follows a band and a bakery shop and it has the perfect mix of love at first sight, finding yourself, loving yourself, and tackling hard life issues. I am obsessed. I cannot wait to read the next one!

This is an amazing book that I easily consumed in two afternoon/nights of reading. Melissa Grace writes a story of a chance meeting that turns into the love story of a lifetime. Book one follows Jax and Liv, but introduced us to a whole set of story-worthy characters. I look forward to reading everyone’s stories and following along on their journeys.

Great read!

Rating and Review

Rating: 3.25 Stars

I’m convinced this book should have been titled either Tequila Sunrise or Turn Around; Donut is not an acceptable contender.

I struggled to get into the flow of this story in the beginning, but found my groove around 50%. I appreciated the emphasis Melissa Grace put on the platonic relationships instead of just the romantic one. Truthfully, Liv’s interactions with the Midnight in Dallas crew (Cash, Dallas, Derek, Luca, Antoni and Brady) were what held most of my interest; this isn’t to say that I didn’t like Liv and Hax as a couple—because I did…for the most part. I just grew frustrated with Liv’s stubbornness when it came to acting on her feelings for Jax.

I’m interested in giving Ella and Cash’s story a chance, but I am inpatient for Luca’s story to be release

Loved the characters and the banter between the characters and loved the slow burn. Can’t wait to read the next book in the Midnight in Dallas series!

Tbh, I was stalling to read it, and then I finally made myself pick it up. It turned out to be one of the sweetest, cutest, and fluffiest books I read this year. Both MMC and FMC were so enticing. And their dates, their support for each other, their donut jokes and that 'turn around' thing... actually their whole love story was chef's kiss
