I’m convinced this book should have been titled either Tequila Sunrise or Turn Around; Donut is not an acceptable contender.

I struggled to get into the flow of this story in the beginning, but found my groove around 50%. I appreciated the emphasis Melissa Grace put on the platonic relationships instead of just the romantic one. Truthfully, Liv’s interactions with the Midnight in Dallas crew (Cash, Dallas, Derek, Luca, Antoni and Brady) were what held most of my interest; this isn’t to say that I didn’t like Liv and Hax as a couple—because I did…for the most part. I just grew frustrated with Liv’s stubbornness when it came to acting on her feelings for Jax.

I’m interested in giving Ella and Cash’s story a chance, but I am inpatient for Luca’s story to be release

Loved the characters and the banter between the characters and loved the slow burn. Can’t wait to read the next book in the Midnight in Dallas series!

Tbh, I was stalling to read it, and then I finally made myself pick it up. It turned out to be one of the sweetest, cutest, and fluffiest books I read this year. Both MMC and FMC were so enticing. And their dates, their support for each other, their donut jokes and that 'turn around' thing... actually their whole love story was chef's kiss

First, I would like the thank Melissa Grace for an e-ARC of this lovely novel! Second, I am so excited to tell everybody about this amazing start to what I can only imagine is a fantastic series! I ate this story up faster than the characters devoured all the bakery sweets! #HomeIsWhereYouAre follows the story of Jaxon (Jax) Slade (a rockstar) & Olivia (Liv) Sinclair (a Nashville based musical baker). Their story happens over the course of about a year in this book. Normally, I would be worried about the pacing of a romance in the timeline…not with this book! I felt that the main characters really grew individually & together as the story progressed. I think the focuses on building trust, facing fears, being vulnerable, & learning to love yourself in the process were so important! I quickly fell in love with Melissa’s writing style & the way she conveyed the character’s feelings. The dual point of view is…*chefs kiss*! It made it so easy to empathize & sympathize with them both throughout the story. And the characters were just so dang likeable! I fell for every member of #MidnightInDallas (Jax, Luca, Dallas, & Derek) & the security/manager/hype team (hi Brady, Antoni, Grace, Katie, & Cash!) because they are each so quirky & cute in their own way. The #FoundFanily aspect was very strong here & I enjoyed it immensely. This novel also highlighted the importance of loving yourself…such an important message. And I’m a cat person…so we all know Mama was the star of this novel!

Also, I freaking loved Ella! She spoke the truth & quoted the heck out of the amazing @DollyParton to knock some sense into Liv when she needed it. I am so happy that the next novel in this series focuses on her & Cash!

“Love isn’t about choosing who you think won’t hurt you. It’s about choosing who’s worth hurting for.”

I really enjoyed this one! The alternating/dual perspectives was great; it’s always fun to see both sides of a couple narrate a story.

The subtle comedy throughout is a breath of fresh air; it’s relevant, sarcastic and punchy.

Also, I need to know if the pie diner exists, because I am all for it!

Ella is a fabulous supporting character, the obligatory supportive and feisty BFF that every good rom-com needs! And I absolutely adored the band manager, Antoni—what a delightful character! I want be friends with him so hard!

Holy nostalgia on the song selections too, Batman! (“To the bat mobile!”)

Overall this was a really cute read! I’m excited to read Home Again, the next book in the series coming July 27th!

I’ve been awarded the wonderful opportunity to review Melissa Grace’s new book in the Midnight in Dallas series, so I wanted to make sure to start at the beginning before diving in. I am glad I did!

This book was SO cute. I love a good rom-com and this book had me smiling nonstop. The dialogue between characters gave me all the butterflies and I couldn’t help but salivate every time baked goods were discussed. I’m going to have to find myself some donuts and cupcakes ASAP

This was a book club pick and the first time I have heard or read this author and I'm so grateful to book club. I thought this book was truly amazing and didn't expect to get through it in one weekend because I couldn't stop reading it.

I love a good Rockstar romance so knowing that going in was exciting and it lived up to my expectations and then some.

Read this for:
- Rockstar romance
- Age gap where she is older
- Hero is is GONE for the heroine
- A wonderful fun friend group and found family
- An emotional backstory for both characters
- A woman who finds herself again

Jaxon Slade is my new book boyfriend and the cute things he does for Olivia Sinclair are just beyond. I loved their chemistry from the beginning but I loved how Jax was patient with Olivia even more. I also love to see an older heroine that shows there is totally life after 30.

The message around how you can make your dreams come true at any age was wonderful. There was so much emotion that I connected to in this book and found myself tearing up several times throughout this story. I am very excited that this is a series and I can continue on in the Midnight in Dallas world. Time to get the next books in the series and add those to my TBR!

Home is Where You Are is the first book in the Midnight in Dallas series, which focuses on friendship/family, love, food, and rescue pets.

One of the things I love about this book and Melissa's writing is that it does hold back on some tough issues that people face. Divorce, infertility, grief, the struggle to move on. Melissa includes these issues with sensitivity and compassion, giving us a story that is filled with love and hope, the reminder that who we are is enough, and that we can find family in the most surprising of ways.

I love the friendship between Liv and Ella, as well as Ella's daughter Grace, as well as with Katie. Liv and Ella are 'ride or die' friends who have been with each other through thick and thin.

This is the first book in the Midnight in Dallas series and it's such a fun, lighthearted read. It was exactly what I needed! I absolutely adore all the characters and some of the supportive characters have hilarious one liners! The love story is so touching and honestly parts of it had me tearing up.

I personally took off one start because there were parts that were just a little too mushy for me, but that is totally reader preference and I think if you're a romance lover you will adore this book. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!
