What a perfect debut novel! Melissa Grace writes Nashville exactly right. I immediately fell in love with Jax and Liv, and every single character in this story. Truthfully, reading this book feels like a warm hug. If you like music, good food, and romance so pure, then this book is for you! Lots of quippy dialogue, laugh out loud moments, and beautiful friendships. Highly recommend!!!

I adored this one! It’s sweet, wholesome, emotionally powerful, and a ton of fun. I loved spending time with these characters and cannot wait to continue the series. I RACED through the final third in one go because I just couldn’t stop myself.

This is like a hug from your best friend when you’re going through an emotional time. It’s a perfect evening spending time with someone you trust absolutely while the sunset lights up the sky. And it’s a goofy road trip with everyone you love most in the world, singing along to songs on the radio at the top of your lungs.

This is one of my favourite reads this year. Please read it!

The story
Liv is a divorced 30-something, she owns a bakery with her best friend. When she is dragged out the house to a show in Nashville, the lead singer Jax takes a liking to her and asks her out after the show. He is younger, handsome and famous and her self confidence is low after years with her ex. Can Liv & Jax become a “thing”?

My thoughts
I loved the way Liv and Jax love each other with their full hearts. Their early love wobbles mostly revolve around each believing they are doing the best for the other, even though this maybe is not the right thing. I love how together they were able to find their “home”, and it was a supportive and positive place filled with songwriting and happy music. I am so pleased book #2 is ready and waiting on my Kindle!

This book was a feel good country music love story. Reminded me of a hallmark movie with just a slight bit of spicy romance. It had the drama, quick to fall in love, best friends become family vibes.

Wow! I am in love such an exciting story. Jax and Olivia cute together. Jax is the most supportive, beckoning, smart and awesome book boyfriend loved him and Olivia she deserves the best of everything she dedicated her life to take care of the people she seen as a family gorgeous. I loved the team and friendship of all the band members how they started and how they are like a family foe each other they supported one another. Ella the best friend ever her support and love to Liv and also a gorgeous mother to Grace I loved their relation together looking forward for her story. My problem is that I wanted more insights into how they overcome the press crisis not only a small sentence and wanted them to scandalised Shelbay infront of the press and tell everyone what she done. Brenton needed to struggle and suffer more for what he had done to Liv and how he made her fell undeserving of happiness and blaming her miscarriage on her but all in all a wonderful and awesome story it's like a hidden gem deserved to be hyped all over the booktok

I love a good pun, but I hated the donut puns in this book. I don’t know why but they made me cringe every time 😂 overall though the story was good.

"To donuts and chance encounters."

I picked up this series because I received an ARC of the third book, so I wanted to read the first two before starting the ARC. What more can I say than this novel is just so SWEET and endearing. I loved it!

Liv is a recently divorced, 37 year old woman. She is lost and trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces and move on. She owns a bakery, and has a found family in her best friend Ella and her daughter, Grace.

Jax is the lead singer to a band called Midnight in Dallas. He lived his life in foster care, bounced from home to home until he was old enough to be on his own. He wants nothing more than to start a family of his own and real place to call home.

On a whim, Liv goes to a Midnight in Dallas concert with Ella and Grace, and they just so happen to get backstage passes to meet the band. Liv and Jax have an instant connection, palpable to everyone in the room. Jax quickly pursues Liv; he falls first and he falls fast. They slowly build their relationship; starting things slow, as friends, but Liv opens up to him over time.

We come to find out that Liv used to be a singer/songwriter, but she fell out of that because of her now ex-husband, who felt the need to stifle her talent. When Jax learns about this, he and Liv bond even more over song writing, singing, and eventually performing together.

I enjoyed the natural progression of Jax and Liv's relationship. Yes he falls fast and hard for her, but he is incredibly respectful towards her hesitations and her feelings. She has been burned before, and he works to build her trust as their feelings grow.

I also love the found family aspect of this novel. It goes to show that your family doesn’t need to be biological; it can be whatever you want it to be. Jax has family in his bandmates and manager. Live has family in her best friend and daughter. They all come together and create a new family of them all. While things move quickly, it still feels very natural.

There is also some silly humor involved. There is an ongoing joke between Liv and Jax regarding donuts, and the constant use of "donut" in place of "don't" had me goofy smiling every time.

While this is a romance, there is a slow burn and then a low spice level. While I wanted more (as per usual), it was written in a way that fit into the story, and the lack of spice did not detract from their relationship or the storyline itself.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but I'm so glad I picked this up. An incredibly sweet love story, and I look forward to continuing with these characters for the rest of the series!

This was good but it was too corny for me. Another review said it was too “neat and tidy” and I agree. It just didn’t feel realistic at all.
