This one was a little rockier than Book 2 but the fact that it didn't have a happy ending was weirdly a selling point for me. Also, once again, way to sidestep the obvious and write a far more interesting plot!

Nicht besonders gruselig und eher wenig atmosphärisch.
Der Handlungsort hat mich interessiert, aber das Buch war eher spannend, als Horror. Und für mich hätte man gerne ein paar Seiten kürzen können.

A book written about Aokigahara? YES PLEASE.

This book started off slow and was slow until about 60% in. Then shit REALLY HIT THE FAN. The writing isn’t fantastic by any means but it’s definitely not the worse. The story was a little far fetched but I actually really enjoyed it. It’s a fun read!

I'm really sorry to the author, but this book wasn't for me.

It just dragged on and on and I was bored.

Overall, this was a decent read. The group dynamics were the major focus of the majority of the book. The forest itself, however, plays very little in the development of the story. Normally, this wouldn't be a major issue. Given that the reader is dropped into what would be considered one of the scariest places in the world, however, I expected it to factor more. Yes, the tone is set by the suicidal creepiness of the locale. I just feel that this is underused as an element of the story. Much of the action could have taken place in a different location without altering the story.

2.5 starts. I really enjoyed this until we got to the twist. An enjoyable survival horror nonetheless.

I need more horror in my bibliophilic life.

Book started out incredibly slow and I wanted to DNF it. I kept reading and it was so much better… then the ending was disappointing.
