I fell in love with Brooke Montgomery's small town, cowboy romances with her Sugarland Creek series & that love continues with the spinoff series, Willow Branch Mountain. One thing I love about Brooke's stories is that they are on the taboo side & this one is no different.
This is about Warren Langston & Maisie Callaway, childhood sweethearts who marry young, but life got in the way. Maisie goes on to pursue her dreams in NYC, asking for a divorce that Warren refuses for 7 years. Now she's back, newly engaged & needs him to sign the papers so they can both move on. Warren still holds out hope that Maisie will come home & will only give her a divorce if she goes on 7 dates with him so he can prove that they are meant to be.
This is very much like a spicy Sweet Home Alabama. There is such great tension & angst between the two MCs. I love their rich backstory & the drama. Maisie's parents & her fiancΓ© bring some villain aspects to this story & I found myself just rooting for Maisie & Warren's second chance the entire time. Warren is such a swoony, lovestruck MMC. He has never moved on from Maisie, holding out hope she'd come home, even after all these years. I also loved Maisie's growth - the way she finally sticks up for what she wants in her life.
This is such a great start to this new series - we get to meet all the Langstons, who this series revolves around. There is a nice setup to Book 2 that has me already hooked. And if you love audiobooks, I highly recommend listening to this one. All Brooke's audiobooks are excellent, but here we have dual narration by Aiden Snow & Savannah Peachwood, who completely bring this story to life.

The way Warren loves Maisie is awe inspiring. How he holds out hope that sheβd come back to him was beautiful.
I hadnβt read a story like this in a while and Iβm reminded about how true love is patient and resilient.
The struggles Warren + Maisie have are real and makes both characters so relatable. Warren only knowing farm like and Maisie wanting to brake free from her parents hold and make something for herself left them on a windy path.
Lucky bringing them back together, but only when Maze wants to divorce so she can marry another man. Well Warren wasnβt having any of that.
The deal was seven days for him to reminder her what they had. That man didnβt need that long, and the way he protects her from her fiancΓ© is chefs kiss!
πππππ π’ππ Brooke for allowing me the early listening opportunity!π©΅ I adored being about to listen to the story and hear the passion Warren has for Maze!

Take My Name is the first book in the Willow Branch Mountain series by Brooke Montgomery. Itβs a second chance, stand-alone, small-town, cowboy romance about a literary agent living in NYC who returns to her Southern hometown and the high school sweetheart she (thought she) left behind.
I love complicated love stories, and this one fits the bill for sure. I ate this audiobook up with its spicy Sweet Home Alabama meets The Notebook if everyone pierced their fun bits vibes. Itβs a little messy in the best way. Brooke Montgomery skillfully dances on the line of the question-did she cheat on her fiancΓ© with her husband? If youβre excited about finding out more - scoop this book up ASAP. Itβs on KU, and the audio is live now.
Speaking of the audio, we get treated to the incredible voice acting talents of Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood for this story. I love the deep timbre of Aiden Snowβs voice, and as a filthy mouthed, full on simp, cowboy? HAVE MERCY! Delicious all the way around. Savannah Peachwood does fantastic work playing out how conflicted Maisie feels about the possibility of sacrificing how hard sheβs worked for her career for another chance with the love of her life. I am looking forward to more in this series for sure!
Thank you so much to Brooke Montgomery and her team for the ALC opportunity!
Maisie is back in town to get Warren to sign divorce papers. She's engaged to another man and he doesn't know she's still married! She's been living the NYC life, the life she always wanted. Warren somehow convinces her to give him seven dates. Seven dates to either change her mind and stay married or he signs the papers. The more they spend time together, the more she remembers why she fell in love with him all those years ago. But before the seven dates are completed, Warren signs the papers. Yet, Maisie hesitates to sign them herself. Not only does she find out that her fiance had her background checked, but that he knew she was still married. And let's face it, she still loves Warren.
A few things... Warren has stayed celibate this whole time while Maisie is engaged to another man. He really upheld his vows. I get that Maisie has been trying to get him to sign them so in her mind they were a done deal. Ok. I admire Warren's resolve. To have the MMC be celibate was different. Maisie's fiance gave me the ick. I don't even remember his name! Especially when he tried to claim her inheritance! I was thinking, "Look, douchebag, it ain't yours to claim!" Yeah, good riddance to him.
I loved this introduction to a new small town series! I enjoyed my first visit all the more because of the vocal stylings of Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow. Seriously stellar narration by this duo.
I received an advance copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

This is my first book by this author and OMG I'm obsessed!
I fell in love with these characters and the authors writing style so quickly!
The storyline is one I don't think I've actually read previously, so I enjoyed this too!
The swoony dates that Warran plans just have my heart melting! πππ
The audio narrators are two of my favourites, Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow. This audiobook is incredible and I could listen to these two all day long π

This was such a cute book, it got me so hocked since the beginning, truly cannot remember when I last finished a book in one sitting.
