Too much rambling in the writing, and too much forgiveness in a toxic relationship (the daughter's)
Moderate: Toxic relationship
To be honest I hated this book - it was so boring, and took me forever to finish. It bounces between a mother and daughter's personal lives, and each of their relationships, as well as their relationship/bond with each other. Spoiler alert - they started the book off where they did not have a close relationship, but ended the book both with new romantic partners and a better relationship. The book was predictable, but really hard to relate to because the mom was in a relationship with a man 20 years younger than her, and her daughter was in a relationship with a man 20 years older than her.
This book was a waste of time, in my opinion. (no offense Danielle Steele).

Your typical happy ever after book. Nothing thought provoking about it. Characters were pretty easy to predict That being said. I did enjoy listening to it. Glad I didn’t buy it.
I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and the publisher. I read Only the Brave by this author just prior to this book. This book was such a letdown compared to Only the Brave. I thought maybe that book would show a turn in her writing. I was wrong. This was back to shallow characters, completely repetitive explanations, and arrogance about. This was a real disappointment for me.

Her books have gotten really short and she does a lot of explaining rather than showing. But they’re still fun reads.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
With a successful acting career, people think they know who Ardith Law is by making assumptions about her but they only know what she allows them to see. Hurt by her unfaithful husband, she keeps people at a distance including her daughter even years later after her husband's death. Ardith's current relationship is less about romance and more about being there for each other through thick and thin. A budding actor, Josh enters Ardith's life as a temporary assistant and giving all the wrong first impressions. Slowly they start to trust each other and become more in sync than they intend to be as they question what is this exactly?
Meanwhile in New York, Ardith's daughter, Morgan is a successful plastic surgeon putting her career first and not wanting to get any close personal ties with people. It's how she was brought up and what she is used to. However soon she is swept up in romance with the last person she thought she could see herself with and moves cautiously not wanting to get hurt or give into all of her feelings.
Danielle Steel does a great job on two different storylines which are still intertwined with the difficult mother daughter relationship dynamic. This book was an easy read and kept me entertained wanting to finish it to find out how it ends. I highly recommend this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Randon House Publishing for the ARC. Also thank you to the author, Danielle Steel for the amazing writing and great read! Looking forward to reading some more of your ARC's!

I chose this book yo read because of a library slip in a different book of mine. This is my first Steele book and I was not impressed. I found the writing at times repetitive and the characters felt more like caricatures than real people, not enough actual heart. I also just didn’t care.
