Not sure who recommended this book to me but I want to give them a great big kiss and pledge my undying love for them.

I got to the end and all I could think was oh my god, oh my god, oh my god; that was because it was just so oh my f**king god.

Katie and Mia are sisters who love each other fiercely but fight like cat and dog too. Mia the younger sister makes a huge mistake and being impulsive decides to go back pack around the world with her best friend Finn so she does not have to deal with the fall out of what she did.

The story follows Katie as she retraces Mia's steps to unravel what happened on her journey using Mia's journal for reference.

The writing in this book is beautiful. I could almost smell the sea and Jasmine from the perfect words used by Lucy Clarke. Without reading the blurb I got the impression that the sea is a big passion of the author's and when I did read the blurb found I was right.

The sea ebbs and flows through the book, building and crashing just like the story. The plot is woven wonderfully - totally compulsive reading. I needed to get to the conclusion just as much as Katie did.

This is not a smut book. There is sex but not descriptive. The story didn't need it. I fell a bit in love with Mia and Katie and Finn too but I found Noah a bit scary and intense - which is exactly how I should have felt.

To the person who recommended this book, thank you from the bottom of my heart. 5 huge shining stars. A debut novel too! What talent!

Originally I was going to rate this a 4 star but the ending got me BIG TIME so up to 5 it went.

This was a wonderfully written book and really makes you think. Even though this is about 2 sisters I feel as though anyone can relate to the emotions this book is full of by 'replacing' the sister aspect with someone else in your life. Prepare for an emotional overload with love, hate, grief, resentment, admiration, acceptance, etc.

I really enjoyed the dual timeline from each sister's POV and how they essentially crashed into one another in the end. As I said at the beginning, the ending got me - I always appreciate an emotional ending that ties into the story so well.

3.5 stars. Kicked my wanderlust up a few notches. It's quite sad at points, so only read it when you can manage.

This story just drew me in. I loved traveling along with Katie while learning about Mia and herself. I would read this author again

Loved this book! After the death of their mother, sisters Katie and Mia handle things differently. Katie settles her mothers affairs and continues on with her life, while Mia drops everything and takes off an a trip around the world with her best friend Finn.
The book opens with Katie getting the news that Mia has been found dead in Bali, with authorities claiming all evidence points to suicide. Katie has a difficult time believing her vibrant sister would kill herself. Katie receives Mia's possessions from her trip and finds her travel journal. Deciding she needs to find out what happened to Mia, she sets out to follow the path her sister took using the journal. Along the way, Katie gets to know her sister and finds out some truths about herself. Truths she may not necessarily want to know, and that which may change her perspective on her entire family.
The book is told from alternative perspectives, which I always love, but really seemed to work in this book. I loved getting a glimpse of what both sisters were thinking and feeling. I felt like I was alongside both girls throughout their travels. I could almost smell the eucalyptus trees.
Warning, though, this book will give you serious wanderlust. If you're anything like me, you've already got the travel bug bad. This book will not help the urge to drop everything and take off.
Definitely check this out if you like complex sister relationships, travel, and enough mystery to keep you questioning yourself. I don't have a sister, but Clarke's writing made it clear what a complex relationship sisters have. There really seems to be a fine line between love and hate.

This is a beautiful book and is one of my favourite reads that I've read this year. I liked how it explored the bond between the sisters, loving but so complex at times. The mystery of what happened to Mia was portrayed wonderfully even though she frustrated me at times and I found myself needing to know what had happened next. I loved the fact that Katie grew and changed throughout the novel, although I found the ending sweet but I still felt bad that Katie had lost her mother and her sister. The only thing I disliked is the fact that Katie didn't read the journal all in one go to find the answers, instead she read page by page, as I felt that wasn't so realistic because any normal person wouldn't have that kind of restraint, But I suppose it had to happen that way because of how the book was set out but I might just be saying that because I know I wouldn't have that kind of restraint.

I recommend this book, it's worth a read if you like the premise. I will be checking out any future books that this author publishes because she writes beautifully. The writing was so vivid that I could easily imagine the places that Katie and Mia travelled to.

It was well written. Interesting story and lovely conclusion. Read because it was a Richard and Judy book. Not as strong as they usually are but a good book anyway.
A quick read, good for a holiday.

I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this from the cover.

Katie and her sister, Mia have a difficult relationship but nevertheless, Katie is devastated when she gets a visit from the police to say Mia's body has been found at the bottom of a cliff. Katie sets out to retrace Mia's movements leading up to her death. She refuses to believe that Mia has committed suicide as the police suspect.

I don't normally enjoy books that flit between 2 characters as much as this book but this story pulled me in. I found myself wanting to know whether Mia was pushed or jumped. An easy, quick read - good for a holiday read.
