Started off slow, found the beginning of the story disconnected and hard to get into. Once the story was established, it was wonderful and had a really great ending.

Este libro me parecio muy bien redactado, y bien logrado. Me encanto la forma de introduccion al mundo magico, se me hizo adictivo y entretenido. El interes amoroso y el desarrollo de la pareja me parece muy bonito. Me encanta la forma de descripcion de las protagonistas y como muestran la lealtad de una hacia la otra, teniendo un lazo inquebrantable siendo hermanas. Este libro esta lleno de accion, y descubrimientos.
La trama me parece muy buena. Siento que algunas partes del final no me gustaron, ya que uno de los personajes sufre demasiado por acciones de otros y no le dan tanta importancia. Aun asi me parece super recomendable, es una historia hermosa, con grandes personajes.

I thought the family bonds were compelling, as well as the magic systems and the plot. The only problem I have with this book is the romance between I felt it was rushed and slightly unrealistic. Otherwise, I enjoyed this book and I will look into the other books by this author.

Oddly enough, I have just previously finished a book where two sisters didn’t like each other and that was never explained well. Thank heavens for this book that instead brought sisters together in an absolutely beautiful way and showcased the power of that kind of bond.
I am really coming to love Rebecca Ross’s writing style and this is my new favorite YA book by her. I loved the plot and world building and all of the little nuanced magical details that brought everything together. Both sisters, Evadne and Halycon have POV’s and are one of kind women on their own. I love strong FMC’s and that is heavily present throughout.
There’s even a little dash of romance in Evadne’s character arc and I thought it wove in well to the overall storyline. I really liked the love interest and the complexity of his character too.
As a theme of forgiveness, strength, and found family emerge I quickly became invested in all aspects. Some great emotional moments towards the end where the action leaves you flipping pages as fast as you can. And I loved the way the ending wrapped up!

What can I say about this beautiful story that will make it justice? One more time, Ross has weaved a whimsical tale of bravery, starring two strong sisters who would do anything and everything for each other. While I adored the worldbuilding, the plot, and the plot twists that wouldn't stop coming, what has captivated me the most is the characters. All of them are so real, so human.
Rebecca Ross has been an incredible discovery. To think that I've gone 20 years of my life without her books! I highly recommend her to every fantasy reader, as well as to all girls who have ever doubted themselves and their possibilities.
