Not happy with the main characters judgement of others and there was some content I did not care to read about, I looked up the content warnings and decided this was not something I wanted to continue reading.

Strengths:
incredible character voice, realistic relationship dynamics, intentional and powerful vignettes, tension, emotion, Sanchez not only writes in the voice of a teenager but the writing style itself changes as the character gets older and gets better at writing - making you feel like you're reading this girl's real memoir/diary, very clever storytelling with plot twists and reveals
One of my top 5 young adult novels <3

I think this book would have had a profound impact had I read it as a teen. I almost DNFd it when the author used the phrase “every once and a while” twice. But I persevered and I’m glad I did.
Absolutely such a good read. Definitely has triggering moments so take breaks if necessary but 100% a good read. Would be great for book club!!
Great book!
I’ll be starting this book with my students, but wanted to read it first. So glad I get to share this beautiful story with students! Great writing and real characters whom anyone can relate to. Very relevant and hopefully can help erase the stigma of mental health issues and the importance of getting help! Very poignant!
