Honestly a great sequel. Slightly less horny, slightly more plot driven. It's fun and silly and knows exactly what it is.
Overall, very happy with the duology. The first book pulled me in with the time loop gimmick, the second kept my attention with the characters. Sad that many of the fun little side characters from book 1 were only barely there, but it kept the book focused.

Everybody Wants to Rule the World Except Me delivers a satisfying conclusion to the duology, bringing back the humor, heart, and clever twists that made the first book so enjoyable. The story builds on the same offbeat charm and sharp character work, offering fans more of what made the series such a fun ride in the first place. While it doesn’t always surprise in the same way as the debut, it still wraps up the characters’ journeys in a way that feels rewarding and true to their arcs. Overall, it’s a lively and fitting finale—full of wit, adventure, and just the right dose of chaos—that leaves you smiling at the end.
Not as fun as book one, but everything was *mostly* explained. I spent most of the book waiting for a reveal that Matthias was also a time loop person brought in when Davi went rogue, but alas

Too contrived. It abandons the basic plot mechanism of the first book (time loop/live die repeat) so Davi can become a Better Person. Plot beats are awkward and forced.
I went searching for spoilers and I know the ending is also contrived and generic, so I’m not interested in slogging through another hundred pages of Davi Learns How To Not Be A Psychopath just for a ‘well duh’.
