Book is filled with racist micro aggressions. In book 2, the author has the MC use the r word. The writing itself is terrible, cringey, and doesn’t make much sense. I enjoyed the general plot of book 1 but DNF’ed book 2 and will not be supporting this author again.

Shifter God is the first book in this spicy wolf shifter and dark vampire romance trilogy. If you like enemies-to-lovers, fated mates hot, psycho monsters, and tough, sassy heroines you'll definitely wanna read this book. Then once you read you are most definitely gonna want to read the rest of the series.
This is the first book by Meg Xuemei x that I've read, and holy shit was I blown away.
" HE BEDS ME, WHISPERS LIES, THEN CHOOSES ANOTHER"
*The Alpha thinks he owns me, but he's about to learn - I belong to the monster who will tear his world apart*
This book was such an amazing read, the character blew me away!!
We have pip our FMC , probably the sassiest person in the fucking world!!! She has been through so much and it has caused her mind to fracture. Her memory is screwed beyond belief, at times she can remember the most unneeded information but when it matters most her memory fails her. She is such a strong character and doesn't let anyone bully her or make her feel inferior.
Then we have our MMC Jared the Alpha heir, who is a complete asshat. I completely hate him!! Like if I could reach my hand through the pages I would throttle him!!
He rejects Pip at every opportunity and then suddenly changes his mind just to fuck her and choose someone else the next day, like what the fuck that's your fated mate dude!! I hope fate bites you in the ass and throws you in the pit of hell.
I was overjoyed when Pip finally had enough!!!
{" I regret you, Alpha Heir Jared!" My wolf's voice called out. " I renounce the mating bond between us. If I'm death's daughter, I call upon the power of my birthright. I command it to break the bond. It shall never fully form!" I roared " Break it!"}
Then we have one of my absolute favorite characters Shade ( canary). He is such an amazing person and quickly becomes Pip's best friend. He is so funny, and understanding, he ends up being such a big help to Pip.
Another upside to the book is the amazing job the author did writing this, the plot was on point and always had you on the corner of you seat never knowing if Pip was gonna do something to piss someone off or if they were under attack. The storyline is very engaging and always has you guessing. We get an amazing badass FMC with the absolute most snark!!

For the series…
I liked the premise and the FMC. However, the entire second book felt like it was just the reader being retold certain events from the first book. Once or twice to remind us fine, but this was excessive.

First off, there is no shifter god anywhere in this book. There are other, earlier reviews that mention the god doesn't make an appearance until the last couple of paragraphs. I'm going to assume that this book as been edited and sections rewritten since that wasn't what I read (heard, since I read the audiobook). This is rejected mate with no second chance story. Pip was sometimes funny, many times annoying, but definitely not a pushover. You wanna like Sideburns, but he's power hungry and sexist and by the end you are are ready to watch him get swallowed by karma. There is a strict adherence to classism in this society which adds a level of contention with the FMC since she purposely non-conforms. I did get tired of her pushing everyone's buttons all the time, though I understood why. I just don't know if I can read another two books with that constant annoyance. On the upside, I adore the narrator and she is what kept me reading when Pip was getting too much to take. I did enjoy the side characters that made up Pip's inner circle. I hope we get to see them in the other books.
what did I actually read. it sounds good in theory and I wanted so bad for it to be great but honestly it sucks. I've read better in all categories. the book read immature the FMC is very annoying. no where was this a reverse harem. good luck on keeping tack of the char a characters named between the nicknames anf thier reaI names. I would like a refund on my time. I can say I will not be reading the next book.

I felt like I was reading a wattpad story written by me when I was 12. There is potential for something interesting (obviously wouldn't have picked it up I thought differently). Its not very long but I couldn't bring my self to keep reading. I usually don't DNF books, but I couldn't bring myself to deal with the juvenile writing.
