Off the bat, I realized this book tries to put 22 years into one story. I'm much more of a one school year per book kind of gal, so I think the pace was a little too fast, and I missed some of the details. I appreciate the idea of the story's plot, but it wasn't executed well. The first person narrative from elementary school had the same tone/writing style as the adult years. Most of the sentences were very "he did this", "I responded with...". There was very little diversity in the syntax. Clearly this book was made for a younger audience; there is very little cursing, detail, or intimacy. Read if you want a light, quick read and you don't care if the reading level is a little low.

I expected much more out of this book. It was, in one word, disappointing. I thought it would be more like The Vincent Boys but it wasn't and that upset me. I was recommended this book because of Abbi Glines books, but it wasn't like those books. This book was very difficult to follow because it went by year rather than day.

But, nonetheless, I still enjoyed reading this book. It was a book I enjoyed reading and thought it was definitely worth the read. My low rating is definitely not expressing the way I really felt about the book which was I loved it. I was disappointed, but I actually really liked it. Philip was definitely swoon worthy, but the nice thing was, Danny was too! Both guys put up an amazing fight and it was hard for me to decide which one was, for lack of a better word (ok, there is one but...), hotter. I chose Phillip because he just did it for me. I've always liked the troublemaker better cause I'm one too and it is awesome getting in tons of trouble with someone.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy romance and "falling in love with the boy next door."

I absolutely love this book. It was one of the few that focused on the friendships of the main characters rather than a love triangle.

This felt like a Wattpad book I loved in middle school. Very glad I got this from Prime reading and did not pay for it.

So awful I didn’t finish.

The events in the story were good, but was not a fan of the writing style or the casualness of it all.
